Specifically, the project aims to retrieve approximately tons of waste from the ocean while also promoting circular economy and renewable energy practices. The first aspect of the project involves ocean clean up. The city of Accra, like many other coastal cities, has a significant problem with marine pollution, including plastic waste. The Waste Gobbler project seeks to retrieve this waste from the ocean, preventing it from further damaging the environment and posing a threat to marine life.
