Specifically, the project aims to retrieve approximately tons of waste from the ocean while also promoting circular economy and renewable energy practices. The first aspect of the project involves ocean clean up. The city of Accra, like many other coastal cities, has a significant problem with marine pollution, including plastic waste. The Waste Gobbler project seeks to retrieve this waste from the ocean, preventing it from further damaging the environment and posing a threat to marine life. The second aspect of the project is the promotion of circular economy practices. This involves finding ways to reuse or recycle the waste collected, creating a closed-loop system where waste is treated as a resource rather than a problem. By implementing circular economy practices, the project aims to reduce the amount of waste generated in Accra and create economic opportunities for local communities. The Waste Gobbler project also - will promotes renewable energy practices. The project seeks to use renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, to power the waste retrieval and recycling process. By using renewable energy, the project aims to reduce its carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices. Overall, the Waste Gobbler project is a multifaceted initiative that seeks to address multiple environmental challenges in Accra. By combining ocean clean up, circular economy practices, and renewable energy, the project aims to create a sustainable model for waste management that can be replicated in other cities around the world.
