Watoto Wasome

Watoto Wasome is enhancing literacy skills for children in Kenya aged 3-10 by igniting a love for learning. We work with those in rescue centers and informal settlements—often overlooked in mainstream education interventions—helping them unlock opportunities to thrive. Our child-centered literacy programs have reached over 300 children, leading to a 40% increase in literacy rates and greater engagement with storybooks among participating centers and schools. Through community partnerships and educator training, we're driving sustainable change in foundational literacy. Since a literate child is a limitless child— at Watoto Wasome, we are making that a reality, one letter-sound at a time!
