Westarctica, Inc

Westarctica, Inc. was founded in 2001 and incorporated as a public benefit corporation in 2015. That same year, it joined the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs - NGO Branch as a non-consultative member. In 2018, Westarctica was granted tax-exempt status by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization under classification code C30, Natural Resources Conservation and Protection within the Environmental Quality, Protection and Beautification category. Westarctica's mission is to serve as the global voice for Western Antarctica, to protect the plants and animals within its borders and in its seas, and to monitor and conserve the West Antarctic Ice Sheet by being a leader in ecological activism.
