One of our key projects is overseeing Uppbyggingarsjóður, a public fund that provides grants for innovation, culture and business development.

Austurbrú
Austurbrú works in the interests of residents in East Iceland and provides coordinated and interdisciplinary services related to business, education and culture. Austurbrú works on research and analysis related to regional affairs and East Iceland matters, as well as various analyzes for institutions and the private sector. Austurbrú hosts Destination Austurland and is responsible for marketing the region in collaboration with partners and is responsible for various events that strengthen Austurland. These include the reception of journalists, the organization of conferences such as Mannamót, travel tours in East Iceland and the management of the Austurland | East Iceland app. Austurbrú also handles regional development and works on projects related to the regional plan, provides advice to the business community regarding innovation and development as well as supports the interests of the region, e.g. housing development and population forecasts as well as labour market analyses. Austurbrú is a leading force in the field of education in East Iceland and provides lifelong learning; including lifelong learning for professionals, companies' educational programs, further education and study programs at the Center for Employment and University Affairs in terms of examinations and the development of study options. Furthermore, immigration issues are the subject of Austurbrú, which is a leader in teaching Icelandic in East Iceland. In addition, Austurbrú has the day-to-day administration of the Association of Local Authorities in East Iceland in its field of work and all issues related to regional organizations and communication with the government.
