DFS Aviation Services is a subsidiary of DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, the German air navigation service provider (ANSP). DFS is responsible for one of the most complex airspaces in the world and handles around 3 million flights annually. The core business of DFS Aviation Services consists of air navigation services at regional airports as a certified ANSP in Germany. The combination of technical and operational expertise allows us to provide customers with tailor-made solutions. The extensive portfolio comprises products and services in ATM. These include- Air traffic services (ATS) & Apron - Consultancy - Aeronautical Data, Engineering & Systems - Aviation Training Services Through its UK subsidiary, Air Navigation Solutions Ltd, the company is also responsible for the provision of air traffic control at Edinburgh Airport. DAS also has the subsidiary in the Middle East, DFS Aviation Services Bahrain Co.W.L.L, which is responsible for providing operational and administrative staff in Bahrain and supports Bahrain’s Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications. Only cargo on AeroLogic flights will be allocated and processed directly by DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo, using an innovative, sophisticated model designed to meet the needs of both partners. For the shipper, AeroLogic means greater capacities, higher flight frequencies, and unmatched transit times for exchanging goods between Asia or North America and Europe – in short, a route network optimised like none other.

This illustrates the development from a leisure airline to a unique and unmistakable vacation brand. The new design was unveiled with the first A330neo, which is operated by Condor since December 2022. As the German launch customer, Condor will then be flying 21 A330neo long-haul aircraft. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology and maximum efficiency, the latest-generation 2-liter aircraft is the European front-runner with 2.1 liters per passenger per 100 kilometers and maximum customer comfort. Condor will also receive 43 brand-new short- and medium-haul aircraft of the A32Xneo family from 2024.

Cologne Bonn Airport is one of the most important commercial airports in Germany, both for passengers and for cargo. In 2022, around 8.8 million passengers used the airport. Every year, more than 120 destinations in Europe and beyond are served. At the same time, the airport is the logistical heart of North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2022, around tonnes of air cargo were handled here. CGN is the only place in Germany used as a hub by the three major express couriers UPS, FedEx and DHL. The airport is a major economic factor and one of the biggest places of employment in the region. Around people are employed by 130 companies and authorities at the site, more than 1,700 directly by the airport company itself. The airport is located in the south of the city of Cologne, with over a million inhabitants, in the immediate vicinity of Bonn and the Rhine-Sieg and Rheinisch-Bergisch districts. IFATSEA is participating to the EASA rulemaking activities related to ATSEP Training and their Competence Assessment.
