The Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON) is an industry-based Ombudsman scheme that provides NSW energy and water customers with independent, free, informal dispute resolution services. We work towards achieving a fair and reasonable outcome for all parties – we are not a consumer advocate, nor do we represent industry. We investigate a wide range of complaints including: disputed accounts, high bills, disconnection or restriction of supply, payment difficulties, reliability and quality of supply, connection or transfer issues, negotiated contracts, marketing practices, and poor customer service. The Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) is Australia's leading international dispute resolution body. Established in 1985 as an independent, not-for-profit organisation, ACICA’s objective is to promote and facilitate the efficient resolution of commercial disputes in Australia and internationally by arbitration and mediation, with the aim of delivering expediency and neutrality of process, enforceability of outcome and commercial privacy to parties in dispute. Adjudicate Today
Under security of payment legislation, the governments of NSW, Queensland, Victoria, A.C.T, Tasmania and South Australia have appointed Adjudicate Today to assist industry participants understand how the Acts operate and claim the protections and benefits provided by the Acts. We are also responsible for managing the dispute resolution (adjudication) process and training and appointing the judges (adjudicators). Adjudicators appointed to the various State Adjudicate Today panels have received comprehensive training on the relevant Building & Construction Industry Payments Act. In Queensland they have undergone a comprehensive registration process conducted by the Adjudication Registrar. In addition, Adjudicate Today requires all adjudicators attend further workshops and training on an annual basis. Under the Acts, we are called an Authorised Nominating Authority (ANA). Adjudicate Today's quality of service has been recognised by industry participants through their actions. More adjudication applications are referred to Adjudicate Today than any other ANA either in Australia or, we understand, anywhere in the world.
