The CIArb Young Members Group aims at promoting the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in Zambia by bringing together young professionals under the age of 40 and with a keen interest and drive in alternative dispute resolution. The group creates a platform for young professionals in Zambia to sharpen their skills and interact with other alternative dispute resolution professionals world wide.

Ciarb Zambia Branch
The CIArb Zambia Branch, established on 21st of September 2011, is one of the branches of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, which was founded in 1915 with headquarters in London. It promotes and facilitates Arbitration and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution including mediation, conciliation and adjudication. The institute has over members in about 90 countries. To attain membership to the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an applicant is required to be a recognised discipline or calling in which recourse to Arbitration and other forms of ADR is an accepted method of resolving disputes and then attend and entry course. A pass in the Entry Course examination leads to election to associate membership of the institute. Further training is provided and private study encouraged for upgrading membership to Member, Fellow and Chartered Arbitrator grades. Currently the institute has members from such diverse fields as Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, Insurance, Accounting, Property Valuation and Human Resource.
