Hi! We’re Dav and Dan. Based in Malta, we founded Blacksalmon to craft engaging, design-led animation that connects with audiences. Since launching in 2014, we’ve been lucky to work side by side as a husband-and-wife team, combining our passions and creative skills. We love collaborating with inspiring people and organisations—both locally and globally. Whether it’s through agencies or directly with clients, our goal is always the same: to create bold, meaningful work that we’re truly proud of.

Toontuloon
Toontuloon is an animation studio based in Malta that specialises in the development and publication of 2D productions. Toontuloon’s first large production was "Għidli Storja", This kind of work was quickly warmed up to and Toontuloon followed through to the production of the hit series Storja Animalta, a historical docufiction cartoon series was aired on local television and the Short Film Temi - Temi Zammit u d-Deni Rqiq, a short film based on true events on an how a Maltese Dr found the origins the Mediterranean Fever. Both these projects garnered local acclaim and won the Award for Intellectual Property (Ministry for the Economy Investment and Small Business) and Medal for Creativity (World Intellectual Property Organisation). Ghidli Storja, Storja Animalta and the short film Temi: Temi Zammit u d-Deni Rqiq are all available for free on Youtube on Toontuloon's page Toontuloon is currently also venturing on TikTok with a brand new mini-series called "The Pinchers" Look for @toontuloon on Tiktok
