Canadian Grenadier Guards

The Canadian Grenadier Guards (CGG) is a Canadian Army Primary Reserve infantry regiment belonging to the 34 Canadian Brigade Group, within the 2nd Canadian Division. The CGG is based in the Canadian Grenadier Guards’ Armoury, in Montreal. Established in 1859, it is the Canadian Militia’s oldest infantry regiment. It is a guards regiment that shares responsibility with the Governor General’s Foot Guards for the ceremonial guard at Rideau Hall and on Parliament Hill, in Ottawa. In addition to its ceremonial role, its soldiers train part-time in order to serve in Canadian Armed Forces operations.// The Canadian Grenadier Guards (CGG), littéralement « Les Gardes grenadiers canadiens », sont un régiment d'infanterie de la Première réserve de l'Armée canadienne appartenant au 34e Groupe-brigade du Canada de la 2e Division du Canada. Le CGG est basé dans le manège militaire des Canadian Grenadier Guards à Montréal. Établi en 1859, c'est le plus ancien régiment d'infanterie de la Milice canadienne. C'est un régiment de gardes qui est, avec les Governor General's Foot Guards, responsable de la Garde de cérémonie à Rideau Hall et sur la Colline du Parlement à Ottawa. En plus de ce rôle cérémoniel, ses soldats s'entraînent à temps partiel afin de servir dans des opérations des Forces armées canadiennes.

36 Signal Regiment

36 Signal Regiment is a Reserve Force Army Communications and Electronics unit based out of Halifax and Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Please see web page. Our History This Reserve Force Regiment has its roots dating back to 1904 during the early years of military communications in Canada. The lineage can be traced to the second oldest independant Signals unit not only in Canada but in the entire Commonweath. Communications units in the Atlantic Provinces have gone through several transitions throughout the years, with the most recent transformation taking effect on April 1, 2012. This phase of the transition saw the three separate squadrons amalgamate into 36 Signal Regiment.

Welcome to the page of the Canadian Infantry Association, Western Quebec Branch! The Canadian Infantry Association (CIA) is a civilian organization with regional branches across Canada. It comprises infanteers of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), both from the Regular Force and the Reserves. In total, the CIA represents more than 17,500 members in Canada and around the world, all of whom share a keen interest for the Infantry trade, the will to serve, and a spirit of camaraderie that is inherent to the combat arms. Our Branch (the Western Quebec Branch) includes both former and serving members from Reserve Force units, that is from the CGG, RHC(BW), 4R22R, 6R22R, FUS MR, R DE MAIS, FUS DE SHER and the RMR), as well as Regular Force personnel from the R22eR. Our Branch's purpose is to foster an Esprit de corps, contribute to professional development, and participate in discussions that deal with issues affecting the Infantry, in particular by maintaining links with the Infantry School and the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps. Le Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean (CMR Saint-Jean) est l'un des deux Collèges militaires canadiens. Le CMR Saint-Jean assure aux élèves-officiers et aspirants de marine une transition progressive de l’école secondaire aux études universitaires par le biais de programmes de niveau collégial en sciences humaines et en sciences de la nature et par le biais d’un programme universitaire en Études internationales. Ce programme multidisciplinaire vise à préparer les élèves-officiers et aspirants de marine aux responsabilités qui les attendent dans leur carrière au sein des FAC, alors qu’ils auront de nombreuses occasions de servir à l’international et de travailler dans des milieux affichant une grande diversité culturelle. Royal 22e Régiment R22er

Fort de son histoire et tourné vers l’avenir, le Royal 22e Régiment (R22eR) est l'un des grands régiments d’infanterie des Forces armées canadiennes (FAC). Le Régiment est né dans la tourmente de la Grande Guerre afin que les Canadiens-français puissent combattre en français. Outre la Musique du R22eR de renommée internationale, le Régiment comprend maintenant cinq bataillons, dont deux de la Première réserve, totalisant plus de militaires résidant dans la Belle Province. Il s'agit de la plus grande unité francophone en Amérique. Le R22eR constitue ainsi un symbole et est un pilier de la francophonie au Canada. La devise du Régiment, « Je me souviens », qui exprime son identité, inspire encore aujourd’hui nos membres en service portant tous le même insigne : le castor. La notoriété qui l’entoure et qui rejaillit sur chacun des membres qui ont servi en son sein résulte des glorieux faits d'armes qui ont eu cours depuis sa formation en 1914. Par le biais de ses associations, la grande famille régimentaire représente aujourd’hui une collectivité de quelques milliers de vétérans qui œuvrent ensemble auprès de la communauté. On se souviendra qu’à l’époque, le retour des braves soldats du « 22 » ayant courageusement combattu dans les tranchées lors de la Première Guerre mondiale fut acclamé par la population. L’installation du Régiment dans la ville de Québec est venue traduire toute cette admiration. Depuis, le Régiment évolue dans la Citadelle de Québec, sa maison mère, entretenant les liens d’amitié de la classe politique, les autorités provinciales, la Ville de Québec, sa communauté d’affaires et touristique ainsi que sa population. La Citadelle de Québec héberge non seulement notre quartier général, mais également la Garde en rouge et le Musée du R22eR.
