Welcome to the 678 Squadron the Army Air Corps Reserves based in Milton Keynes and Luton. Our primary role within 678 Squadron AAC is to be groundcrew specialists for AH-64 Apache helicopter. As groundcrew specialists we are predominantly involved with the upload and download of ammunition and refuel to the aircraft. However, we provide a full array of logistic support including: movement of fuel and ammunition, reconnaissance of landing sites and ground-to-air radio communications. We also provide protection for the Forward Arming and Refuelling Points ensuring the security of all on site. As a secondary role 678 Squadron AAC provide helicopter handling teams in support of Joint Helicopter Command and individual battlegroups on exercise and operations. These small teams of AAC soldiers provide onsite helicopter expertise and coordinate the movement of personnel and equipment on any helicopter related task. Box Aid is a charitable organisation (not yet a formal charity) offering a totally free online support service, initially to the Military personnel within the UK under the heading Boxes for Soldiers. offers a fully intergrated website and mobile app to connect serving Army, Navy & RAF personnel serving away from home to communicate with friends and family giving lists of items they 'actually need' so that their friends, family and well wishers can send care packages to them wit exactly what they need. There are so many well meaning blogs and forum posts but nowhere is there a wesite or app anything remotely like this. With a soft launch for testing in October 2017 we hope the takeup is not to fast, but then with social media we expect this to grow rapidly, and the national media have already contacted us regarding national TV promotion so fingers crossed. This project will be rolled out internationally through once established in the UK. We have already been contacted asking how it could be used for UK food banks and two churches that send lorry loads of parcels to Hungary and elsewhere, but want their parcels to be more specific to the needs of tose they are giving too. We are already looking at other areas to use the app, including helping the elderly, the disabled (military and general public) and many more I wont mention yet, but any and all feedback welcome

In response to the challenging times that we are all facing, we have recently launched our new 'Cost of Living Grant'. It is designed to help former officers and their families meet the rising costs of food, utility bills, rent and transport. An assessment and eligibility check helps us to identify the best help for you and your dependants, with a one-off grant of up to £500 being awarded. Veterans Regroup Project

The Veterans Regroup Project provides a free service to Veterans, Serving Personnel and their immediate families in Cornwall with monthly, multi-agency Armed Forces Community hubs, money and debt advice and social events. We run hubs in Redruth, Bodmin, Helston, Liskeard, Newquay and Penzance. We have supported the Armed Forces Community since 2012 and are a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, a member of ASDIC and a Veterans’ Gateway partner. We are dedicated to honouring the Armed Forces Covenant and supporting the Armed Forces Community. The Veterans Regroup project is managed by a charitable organisation ‘Smart Savings CIC’ (Company No: 06995089), who are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, registered with the ICO, Breathing Space Scheme and members of Advice UK.
