Biso Biennale Internationale De Sculpture De Ouagadougou
First biennial dedicated to contemporary sculpture on the African continent, the International Sculpture Biennial of Ouagadougou BISO enhances the richness of African sculpture and consolidates its place in the landscape of contemporary art. In the heart of West Africa, Burkina Faso – literally “Land of Upright Men” – bears witness to a long tradition of sculpture, especially with the lost-wax bronze casting, a technique which has been perpetuated in communities and family workshops.
