Artist-Run Alliance
Welcome to the Artist Run-Alliance, an international platform for artist run initiatives – a term typically including artist co-operatives, independent galleries and art spaces. The Artist Run-Alliance (ARA) came about through a need for artist-run initiatives in many parts of the world to connect and interact through a global network, in the process building relationships based on a shared vision. Organized by the Alfred Institute for Art and Culture, the idea for the ARA has grown out of our work as an independent, non-profit art space. The supportive community necessary to coordinate the activities of an artist run initiative will be extended through a broader context, in effect cultivating a collaborative ecosystem of creative professionals. The Artist Run Alliance is a forward-thinking project and a supportive, pro-active community is central to everything we do. Our purpose is to help satisfy specific needs particular to collective groups of artists and curators and is infused with a do-it-yourself ethos, fostered by a community working outside of the established art economy and committed to putting creative ideas into action. Working within our respective locales and cities many artist run initiatives receive little visibility and are, for the most part, unaware of each other. Each works within their own culture and particular set of circumstances, offering different approaches, aesthetics and ideologies towards art-making and exhibition-making practices. The Artist Run Alliance is an ongoing, developing project whose primary focus is to cater to the international art community, but also intent on engaging the general public. As artists we are passionate about what we do and want to involve people in the many-sided and culturally diverse aspects of contemporary art. Our platform will include up-to-date information of activities, events and happenings from our members, with the aim of connecting artists on a local level with the public at large.

Kenafayim - Creating Art
Kenafayim (Wings) is an Israeli nonprofit organization founded in 2004 to establish a unique multidisciplinary arts center, the first of its kind in the world. The organization was founded to create a platform for artistic and social activity and provide a unique place for artists who are dealing with mental health problems. The center enables participants to acquire training as artists, musicians, filmmakers, animators and actors, to fulfill their talents and get paid for their art. This concept is based on the belief that the satisfaction from creating, combined with becoming a productive and contributing individual in the community, is leading to a personal and emotional development for each participant, enriches life skills and self esteem. Theater shows, exhibitions and music concerts by Kenafayim’s artists expose the wide audience to their unique worlds, and allow cultural interaction and mutual involvement. The artistic activity in Kenafayim focuses on theater, music, visual art, cinema, animation and writing, and it takes place every day in the morning.

Yair Art Gallery
Yair Art Gallery, with its intimate atmosphere, was founded in September 2006 by Yair Shulevitz, an art collector for some 25 years. Alongside exhibiting new Israeli artists, the gallery has set itself the goal to provide a showcase for quality artists, some of whom, excluded by the mainstream of the Israeli art world, would otherwise not receive the exposure they deserve. The opening exhibition featured the works of the excellent painter, Uri Stettner, which, throughout the years, was followed by exhibitions of: Jermia Adani, Dror Auslander, Michal Bachi, Shimrit Baer, Shuli Bar Navon, Michael Druks, Avraham Eilat, Eliahu Gat, Yoav Hainebach, Joseph Hirsch, David Isaac, Gilead Keydar, Elyasaf Kowner, Shahar Kornblit, Iddo Marcus, Menuhin, Amir Nave, Rina Peled, Assaf Rahat, Ilana Salma Ortar, Sefi Sendik, Chen Shapira, Danny Verete, Gil Zellner and Shay Zilberman. We believe that over time, beyond passing trends, artists who leave their mark on the artistic consciousness will be those who are faithful to and consistent in pursuing their unique path. In addition to exhibitions, the gallery holds a varied collection of Israeli art.

Give And Paint
Give and Paint was born out of my firm belief in the power of creative collaboration. Art and creative energy bring people together, leaving a lasting impression I had witnessed firsthand. Give and Paint’s unique value is in its three-way contribution. Companies can give back, dedicating time and effort to a relevant cause in an original way. Employees enjoy a day of shared experiences, creating special, long-lasting memories, and getting to make an impact on the world around them. The social cause hosting the activity gets a unique day, a sense of support, and a unique mural painted by all participants. Every mural is unique and hand-drawn. The sketch is approved in advance and represents the value of both the company and the cause. Seeing it for the first time on the big wall had an amazing impact on all participants. Join me at Give and Paint for a special immersive art experience: https://givepaint.my.canva.site

Basis For Art & Culture
The Basis School was founded in 1993 by David Zundelovitch as a unique school of sculpture, and is currently run by Prof. Ya'acov Dorchin – recipient of the Israel Prize for visual arts. It includes sculpture, painting, and photography departments. Basis has maintained its independence and distinctive nature throughout the years, its curriculum is determined independently without being subject to external requirements. The school is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sport, and managed by a non-profit organization that promotes and develops the school. The school program was formulated by active leading artists, with special emphasis on in-depth practical know-how and intense studio work. Workshops and labs are fully equipped and modernized, inviting students to experiment, discover new avenues and hone their skills. The Basis School’s innovative approach, as well as its emphasis on expanding knowledge, ensures that departments do not function in isolation. Students also participate in general cultural courses in arts, such as poetry and music, digital thinking, mythologies and others. Basis students are foremost people of culture, driven by curiosity, connecting past and present, understanding the contemporary relevance of the triumphs and achievements of art from history’s infancy to the current day. All these establish the groundwork for students to create rich, reasoned, and skilled art. Another dimension to the Basis School’s broad foundation is the cultural events that take place in the school: literature readings, discursive seminars, musical performances, film screenings and more. Also, the school compound includes studios for senior faculty, where students can observe directly the work processes of excellent artists who are leaders in their professional fields. The new Basis building is one of the most advanced study environments in its field, designed to constitute a home, a community and a place of counsel for its students.

Zygo Studio
Zygo stands as a unique artistic endeavor that explores the deep intersections between art, emotion, and the physical world. Our journey begins with a simple yet profound memory of twinkling stars, a symbol that has guided our creative path from the innocence of childhood through the complexities of adulthood. This imagery of stars, not just as celestial bodies but as beacons of hope and wonder, has been a constant source of inspiration, pushing us to explore the realms of permitted boundaries and the vast expanse of freedom. Our art is a reflection of life’s dichotomies and the perpetual quest for unification and love. We delve into the essence of human emotions, crafting pieces that are not merely to be viewed but experienced. Zygo's works are kinetic, breathing life into static materials, and inviting viewers to engage with the art on a personal level. By employing an innovative blend of materials and techniques, each creation is a testament to the intricate dance between order and chaos, the tangible and the ethereal. The materials we choose—ranging from the industrial simplicity of screws to the luxurious sparkle of Swarovski crystals—speak volumes about our artistic philosophy. The screws, versatile and foundational, allow us to build complex, three-dimensional surfaces that challenge perceptions of depth and perspective. They represent the potential for change and the strength of connection. In contrast, the crystals bring a touch of the divine, capturing light and reflecting an almost mystical glow that enchants the viewer’s eye.
