Ubicada en un histórico edificio frente a la Plaza del Quinto Centenario en el Viejo San Juan, la Liga tiene como misión el apoyar el proceso creativo de cada estudiante, mediante el ofrecimiento de talleres de arte libres, para el desarrollo de las artes y la cultura en Puerto Rico.

Jibaros Nft
Jíbaros is a generative NFT project launched on Polygon with a flair for Puerto Rican culture. Jíbaros hopes to push mass adoption of blockchain technology and NFT Tech local Puerto Ricans and supp Inspiration Jíbaros is inspired by the Puerto Rican culture. We wanted to create a new kind of NFT Generative Series that we called the "Culturally Influenced Generative Series". The goal is to create a dao with the funds raised in order to start blockchain-related initiatives on the island. Mission Educate, motivate and inspire a new and old generation to adopt a novel technology and economy by investing in crypto & NFTs. To cherish the beauty of our culture and to unite the strong and resilient characters that is engraine in our Jibaro hearts. What it does? Jíbaros mints a unique NFT character based on traits that are very representative of Puerto Rican culture, the rarities were carefully analyzed in order to make unique combinations that will appeal to people of all generations. How we built it? We decided upon Polygon because it is one of the most robust alternatives to Ethereum, the fact that Open Sea was available right off the bat also pushed us in that direction. We basically forked the hash lips contract and made some modifications in order to represent special items and styles adequately. Challenges we ran into… The main challenge was having the contract approve WETH for the minting of the Jibaros, currently we could not find any FIAT to MATIC onboarding. Opensea allows users to buy WETH so we figured that pricing in WETH made sense. Furthermore many NFTs are priced in ETH and Open Sea does not currently allow for Matic purchases. What's next for Jíbaros… Moving the wallet to a multisig, adding payouts to the artists that participated in our team and the launch of our off-chain governance using snapshot, we already have socials ready and the collabland bot will verify who has the NFT in order to get access to private channels.

Kristine Overacre Fine Art
Kristine Overacre is a visual artist living and working in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Southern California. Her work seeks to reflect the complicated and colorful way she views the world around her—many of her paintings are representations of the people, places and things that most inspire her. She is best known for her works of new pointillism that document moments in time and illustrate how many disparate parts can form a connected whole. Her art is deeply influenced by a long-held meditative practice that includes Kundalini yoga, as well as a love of the natural world.
