Bodega Domaine Bousquet
A 1990 vacation in Argentina was all it took. For third-generation winemaker Jean Bousquet, it was love at first sight. The object of the Frenchman’s desire: the Gualtallary Valley, a scenic, remote, arid terrain high in the Tupungato district of the Uco Valley in Argentina’s Mendoza region, close to the border with Chile. Here, where the condors fly and not a vine in sight, Bousquet discovered his dream terroir, an ideal location in which to nurture organically-grown wines. With altitudes ranging up to 5,249 feet, Gualtallary occupies the highest extremes of Mendoza’s viticultural limits. Fast-forward to the present and wine cognoscenti recognize it as the source of some of Mendoza’s finest wines. Back then, it was virgin territory: tracts of semi-desert, nothing planted, no water above ground, no electricity and a single dirt track by way of access. Locals dismissed the area as too cold for growing grapes. Bousquet, on the other hand, reckoned he’d found the perfect blend between his French homeland and the New World (sunny, with high natural acidity and a potential for relatively fruit-forward wines). Bousquet’s daughter, economist Anne Bousquet, and her husband Labid Al Ameri, a successful trader with Fidelity in Boston, found themselves increasingly drawn to the cause, including the opportunity it offered to put their shared philosophy on sustainability into effect. After a 2002 trip to Argentina, the couple began to invest in Domaine Bousquet. In 2005, Al Ameri joined his father-in-law full time, helping with the construction of the winery. Anne continued her work as an economist, before joining the company in 2008. In 2009, the couple moved to Tupungato full-time, assuming full ownership of Domaine Bousquet in 2011. Nowadays, Domaine Bousquet produces 4 million liters a year and export 95% of its volume to more than 60 countries. With our own import companies in the USA, Europe, and Brazil, Domaine Bousquet currently ranks in the top 10 Argentine wines

The winery is currently managed by third and fourth generation vintners Nicolás and his daughter Laura Catena. Nicolás Catena Zapata is known as the man who revolutionized Argentine wine in the 1980’s, by focusing primarily on quality, and spearheading the rebirth of Malbec – the French varietal that had been almost completely forgotten – into the world of wine. The iconic Catena family winery was built as a rock-clad pyramid nestled in the foothills of the Andes mountains. It produces wine from five estate vineyards. Bodega Piedra Negra
François and his brother Jacques started making wine in Argentina as far back as 1988. After much searching they found what they were looking for in the Alta Uco Valley an area of majestic natural beauty in the foothills of the Andes. Although nothing more than a semi-desert at the time they were the very first to recognise the potential of this area for vinegrowing; the quality of the terroir, the virgin lands set in altitude, the continental climate and the presence of a pure source of underground water coming from melted snow from the Andes Mountains. The very complex terroir, a combination of sand, granite schist, alluvial deposits and large rounded pudding stones are suitably poor and well draining, which convinced them to embarked on the new venture purchasing 200 hectares of the virgin land in 1996, an area named Chacayes.

Bodega Benegas S.A
In 1883, the great-grandfather of Federico Benegas Lynch, Don Tiburcio Benegas founded the winery "El Trapiche". Faced with the economic crisis in the province, which was a producer of alfalfa and wheat, Don Tiburcio had the vision that Mendoza should become a great producer of fine wines of worldwide fame. Until that time during the nineteenth century, only between 500 and hectares of vineyards had been planted. He did not only focus on his personal project, but also encouraged other producers to incorporate new techniques and plant fine varieties by distributing the vine cuttings that had been brought from France to anyone who wanted to grow wine in the province. As a result, Don Tiburcio became one of the most prominent personalities of 19th century American viticulture together with Agoston Haraszthy in California and Silvestre Ochagavia in Chile. At the beginning of the 70’s when the Argentine wine industry was immersed in a crisis, the shareholders who controlled the family business of Benegas Hnos. decided to dissolve the El Trapiche winery, disposing of its assets separately, including its brands, demolishing the winery and selling off the vineyards in smaller lots. Federico grew up accompanying his father who was the winemaker in El Trapiche. Following the dissolution of the company, he moved to Buenos Aires. However, his passion for Mendoza and for winemaking led him to return in a search to recover the family legacy. This is how in he had the opportunity to buy Finca Libertad, an old vineyard first planted by his great-grandfather Don Tiburcio, which was the basis of the project to return to producing high-end wines - the BENEGAS wines. Two years later he bought an old winery located in Luján de Cuyo, which he completely restored respecting the 19th century architecture and incorporating the most up-to-date technology. In the first harvest was made and sold under the name of Benegas wines.

Matervini Winery
Matervini was born in 2008, in an attempt to answer the question “what’s next after Malbec?” Our answer was, “More Malbec! From different places, with different personalities.” This venture shows how very different wines from completely different terroirs can be born from the same grape variety. Matervini travels the long path that goes from traditional to unexplored areas, from young to old geologies and from alluvial to non-alluvial soil structures - like those of the Pre-cordillera. All along this road, wines with unique personalities emerge as different expressions of nature.

Bodega Cruzat

Otero Ramos Bodega De Familia
Otero Ramos Family Winery was born to honor an ancient legacy which started two generations ago in the lands of Galicia, Spain. Towards the end of the 20th Century, Manuel Otero conceived and planned the viticulture, winemaking and tourism project he had thought of for many years through the experience gathered in this activity. He acquired a significant parcel of land in Mayor Drummond, Luján de Cuyo, at 33º South latitude and situated at an elevation of 900 meters above sea level, on the eastern flank of the Andes Mountains, with hot days, cold nights and little rain. It belongs to "Luján de Cuyo" Appellation of Origin. With extraordinary ecological conditions, this place has well deserved the name of First Viticultural and Winemaking Area. The winery’s Spanish style is typical of the end of the 19th century. It has a wine cellar which stores wine in oak barrels and bottles, with mechanisms for humidity and temperature control. Premium wines, the highest technology and the most careful and traditional winemaking practices identify this winery. A delightful five-star rural lodge has been conceived as part of the winery’s project, targeted to first-class tourists seeking to enjoy a comfortable and excellent service.

Vignes Des Andes
Vignes des Andes” is a very beautiful agricultural property in South America with approximately 136 hectares. It is very well situated in one of the best areas of the Mendoza wine region, in Argentina, at the foot of the Andes mountains. After acquiring it in 2009 and obtaining the rights of water access and use, we set up the main infrastructures : road accesses, drillings for water supply, drains, electricity connections, etc. Then we started with vineyards’ plantations. At this stage of the project, more than 60 hectares of a total of 98 have been already planted with vines and olive trees and we have done our third “vendanges” (march-april 2014). This will be followed by the construction of a “bodega” (a winery) and a boutique hotel & spa, all enclosed in a unique building to add to the originality of the project. The total budget for the project is US$ 14 million. Along this work, the land was subdivided into 55 plots of approximately 2 hectares each. Each lot is planted with vines but includes an area for the possible construction of a villa. The lots are now being offered for sale to investors. Each investor can choose his lot and will also receive shares in the holding company “Vignes des Andes SA”, owner of the winery and the hotel & spa. He can also taste the wine produced from his own property as the bodega offers 600 personalized bottles to every partner each year. Additionally, he can stay at the hotel & spa for a week annually.
