The Biological and Biomedical Engineering Student Society (BBMESS) is a volunteer-based student run society that represents the graduate students of the Biological and Biomedical Engineering program in both the Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering departments. Our main goals are to foster a sense of community through social events and to provide soft-skills development and networking opportunities through academic events.

Metabolytica

We provide a range of services related to mass spectrometry-based metabolomics for various bioscience and bioinformatics applications. We are available to partner in large-scale research studies, limited scope assays and experimental investigations or pay for service sample analysis. We have experience in targeted and untargeted metabolomics using a range of advanced mass spectrometry techniques, including LC-ESI-MS/MS, GC-EI-MS/MS, LC-QTOF-MS, GCxGC-TOF-MS. We have experience working with a range of sample matrices, including serum, plasma, urine, cell lines, tissues, organs and whole organism homogenates. In addition, we can provide comprehensive bioinformatics and chemometrics support. We have extensive experience in various univariate and multivariate statistical techniques (t-test, ANOVA, PCA, PLS-DA, VIP plots, dendrograms and heatmaps etc.), as well as pathway analysis. The multiple emerging COVID-19 variants, which pose a risk for vaccine failure, require RNA processing and therefore, will retain the sensitivity to our drugs.
