Established on March 14, 1994, during a time of considerable challenges for literature and culture in the region, Dukagjini Publishing House was founded by the initiative of a group of writers and intellectuals, with the unreserved support of the former Graphic Publishing Book Company (Ndërmarrja Grafike Botuese Librare). Within a short period, it emerged as one of the most prominent publishing houses - not only in Kosovo and among Albanians, but also in a broader international context. Today, Dukagjini Publishing House is recognized for its high-quality publications across a wide range of disciplines, organized into several series, including: Children’s Book Series (Grades 1–5)- a series featuring outstanding works by Albanian and international authors for children and young readers; Anima – a literary series dedicated to important classical texts; Hermann Hesse – the complete opus of the German-Swiss Nobel laureate; Klasikë – foundational works for students and scholars of literature; Magnum Opus – celebrated works by the most influential authors; Effugium – a project supported by Creative Europe, as well as special editions and the latest titles under the LEKË imprint. Dukagjini Publishing House is today a leading force in educational publishing in Kosovo. Its school textbooks are widely recognized for their quality, innovation, and the collaboration with distinguished authors and educators. The publishing house has received numerous awards for its contributions in translation and educational content development, including, most recently, the prestigious BELMA Award for Edukatë Muzikore 3, recognized as the best educational textbook in its category. Dukagjini Publishing House is the only publishing house from Kosovo that is a member of the European Educational Publishers Group (EEPG).
