EU Support for Promoting Sustainable Urban Mobility in Turkish Cities Project This project is financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey. 19 Ağustos, 2022'de başlayan SKUP TÜRKİYE ile ulusal ve kentsel düzeyde bireysel ulaşımdan, sürdürülebilir, erişilebilir ve kapsayıcı hareketlilik modlarına geçiş teşvik edilecek, ulusal ve uluslararası paydaşlar arasındaki politika diyaloğu geliştirecek, ilgili konularda belediyelerimizin AB’deki iyi örnekler ve deneyimler çerçevesinde kapasitelerini güçlendirecektir. Bunun için pek çok konuda 8’i yüz yüze, 36’sı çevrim işi kapasite geliştirme çalıştayları; belediyelerimizin gerekli göreceği konularda yeni rehberler hazırlanacaktır. Özellikle de Türkiye’deki Avrupa Hareketlilik Haftası (AHH) tanıtım etkinliklerine belediyelerin geniş ve aktif katılım sağlayarak, vatandaşların farkındalıklarının artırılması, iletişim, tanıtım ve görünürlük çalışmalarının yapılması planlanmıştır. The SUMP TÜRKİYE project started on 19th August 2022 and will last for 36 months. Through this project, the transition from individual means of transportation to sustainable, accessible and inclusive mobility modes will be encouraged at both national and urban levels. The SUMP TÜRKİYE project will also help build the policy dialogue between national and international stakeholders on sustainable urban mobility and strengthen the capacities of our municipalities on this and related issues within the framework of good practices and experiences in the EU. In particular, it is planned that our municipalities will actively participate in the European Mobility Week (EMW) promotional events in Turkey, thus raising public awareness and carrying out communication, promotion and visibility activities.

West Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA) is a regional public authority in the TR61 region of Turkey. It is responsible for building and facilitating regional plans, strategies, and operational programs, with a focus on entrepreneurship, alternative tourism, and medicinal and aromatic plants in the Antalya, Burdur, and Isparta provinces. Additionally, BAKA conducts investment support, employment, and SME development facilities and projects in the region. In an era of rapid urbanization, the connection between people and the places they inhabit is more critical than ever. Placemaking Turkey was founded to bridge this gap. Who We Are We are a research and practice-based platform dedicated to exploring and promoting participatory, community-led approaches to the shaping of the built environment in Turkey. Our work investigates how emerging digital tools and creative methodologies can transform urban design from a top-down process into a collaborative dialogue. What We Do We explore the intersection of technology and community by investigating how to evolve participatory GIS data into immersive 3D/4D visualizations, community-driven Digital Twins, and Augmented Reality (AR) applications. Our goal is to transform complex data into accessible tools for civic engagement and shared decision-making. Our Philosophy Our approach is grounded in a firm commitment to spatial justice. We believe that a truly successful public space must be inclusive and equitable, honoring the lived, sensory, and emotional experience of all its users. We don't just ask what a space should look like; we ask how it should feel, who it serves, and whose stories it tells.
