Established in 1973, the Regent Park Community Health Centre (RPCHC) is a dynamic non-profit, community-based health centre dedicated to improving the health of Regent Park neighbourhood and east downtown area of Toronto. We operate out of several locations and provide a wide variety of services including: primary health care, chiropody, physiotherapy, nutrition services and supports, social work, community health, immigrant and refugee services, harm reduction and homeless programs, Pathways to Education for high school students, infant and child development programs, parenting education and family advocacy. Watton Employment Services Inc (WES) was incorporated in 1997 and has worked closely with Service Canada and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development since that time. Watton Employment Services Inc is managed by Muskoka-Kawarthas Employment Services and funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario. Our service has grown from a staff of three to its current size of over twenty employees. Each staff member brings unique skills and all have specialized training and university degrees or college diplomas related to their field of expertise. Our head office is located at 9 Elgin St. East in Cobourg, Ontario. We also have offices in Whitby and satellite locations in Roseneath and Colborne, Ontario. Working in cooperation with other community service providers we are committed to helping individuals establish employment-related goals in order to get back to work. We work closely with local employers to assist them with their hiring needs and to provide resources and services for employers. WES originally began operation as an agency that provided mainly Vocational Rehabilitation Services to complex, multi-barriered clients who were seeking assistance with returning to the workforce. The mission of the West End Seniors' Network (WESN) is to improve the quality of life of adults 55 years of age and older by providing social, recreational, educational and supportive programs and services that foster connection and inclusion in the broader community. Changing Ways - Middlesex Elgin Kent
ABOUT US: Changing Ways is a registered charity that offers a unique service in the community by providing alternatives for men wishing to end and take responsibility for their abusive behaviours. MISSION: Changing Ways changes lives by disrupting violence and abuse, and plays a pivotal role in contributing to the safety of women, children, and men. This advances our broader goal of achieving equality within a safe community where aggressors are held responsible and the community accountable. COMMUNITY SERVICES: PARTNER ASSAULT RESPONSE Specialized group counselling for men who have been mandated by the court to attend in response to a criminal charge involving domestic violence. The 12 session program provides individuals with an opportunity to examine their beliefs and attitudes towards domestic abuse and to learn non-abusive ways of resolving conflict. VICTIM CONTACT Specialized counsellors make contact with the victim of assault/current partner of the men involved in group counselling programs. Victim contact services are voluntary in nature, provided by phone, and include risk assess, safety planning, information sharing and referrals to ongoing community supports. BEING THE CHANGE Specialized group counselling for men who wish to address issues of domestic violence. The 16 session program provides individuals with an opportunity to examine their beliefs and attitudes towards domestic abuse and to learn non-abusive ways of resolving conflict. CARING DADS Specialized group counselling for fathers who are at risk of abusing, have abused their children or have physically/emotionally abused their children’s mother. The 17 session program aims to support healthy father/child interaction and create healthy strategies for men to interact with the mother of the child.
