We operate in the wholesale telecommunications market sector primarily serving the Fibre Operator Network (FNO), carrier-grade telecoms carrier market comprising of fixed line and mobile operators, basically all telco’s rolling out FTTx to homes and businesses and those building long haul fibre. Etion Connect is primarily a value-added reseller (VAR) in the telecoms wholesale segment which entails distributing CommScope’s range of passive fibre connectivity products to network operators and their installers. Etion Connect has evolved with its customers over the past 12 years – from mostly supplying copper-based solutions (which are now largely redundant), to fibre access and FTTX solutions. It has supported its major customers by supplying products for huge Multi-Service Access Nodes (MSAN) copper projects and supplied solutions for the first FTTx proof of concept projects in South Africa.
