Atlantic Coastal Fish Habitat Partnership

The Atlantic Coastal Fish Habitat Partnership (ACFHP) employs a comprehensive approach to protecting, preserving, and enhancing Atlantic diadromous, estuarine, and coastal fish habitats. Operating under the National Fish Habitat Partnership (NFHP) program and consisting of fish habitat resource managers, scientists, and communications professionals, the Partnership extends from the Florida Keys to Maine. The Partnership actively engages in funding on-the-ground habitat restoration projects, develops science and data products, and coordinates outreach initiatives to foster connections among partners. Priority habitats include submerged aquatic vegetation, riverine bottom, tidal vegetation, marine & estuarine shellfish beds, and coral & live hard-bottom habitats. ACFHP excels in building local and regional relationships to advance strategic fish habitat conservation priorities that address threats like fish passage obstructions, eutrophication, dredging, coastal development, and invasive species.

Our mission at the Fayette County Conservation District is to sustain our local ecology in both urban and rural environments; including but not limited to the conservation, development, maintenance, and use of the land, water, trees, and other natural resources. We coordinate financial, technical, and educational assistance through local, state, and federal initiatives that support our community to implement sustainable practices. We seek to assist other local agencies and producers to implement sustainable and best management practices in cooperation with the Kentucky Agricultural Water Quality Plan and application of additional conservation efforts.

Road to Recovery (R2R) is a bird population recovery initiative dedicated to restoring North America’s most rapidly declining bird species, called "Tipping Point Species," by bringing biological and social scientists, land managers, governments, conservation organizations, and communities together to pinpoint the causes of decline and co-produce practical, targeted conservation strategies. Through collaborative partnerships and innovative tools like our Recovery Progress Wheel, R2R supports more than 50 species recovery teams across the hemisphere to turn science into real conservation impact.
