In 2013, after a long day at the office, I went to a bar with a friend, my phone like most days was at 15% battery life. We had a drink, at that point it was at 5%. I asked the manager at that bar if he could charge my phone. He said sure and naturally took my phone away from me to charge it in the back of the bar. I turned to my friend at that point and said “Wouldn’t it be nice to charge my phone here at the table in front of me? That’s how our journey with Charga began… A simple question of inconvenience to my friend at a bar started this business that we believe makes life easier for our consumers with a variety of more affordable solutions for everyday problems. About Minelab South Africa Reivilo Technologies CC, trading as Minelab South Africa is the official and exclusive Distributor of the World’s Leading Minelab Metal Detector Brand in South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland, and Lesotho. Minelab South Africa also has non-exclusive Minelab distribution rights in various other countries, this includes but is not limited to, Angola, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Gabon, Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Madagascar, Mauritius, and Seychelles. The origins of Minelab South Africa can be traced back to when its founder, George Olivier, first established a business relationship with the Countermine Division of Minelab Australia. Initially, as a Sole Proprietor, he became involved in the supply and after-sales service of Countermine Detectors to various Humanitarian Demining Organisations, NGOs, Militaries, and Commercial Demining Companies. Early in 2003, Reivilo Technologies CC was officially established. At the time, the company was not only involved with Countermine (Land mine/UXO/IED detection) but also specialised in Telecommunications, which included all the Satellite Systems and VHF & HF Long Distance Radio Communications. The Australian Codan HF Radio Systems were a considerable part of the communication business. In 2008, Codan would acquire Minelab and Minelab became a sister company of Codan Radio. Minelab was now part of the ASX-listed Codan Group of Companies. Forward to 2008 and Minelab International requested Reivilo Technologies to also get involved in the Commercial side of the Minelab business, to expand the market and increase the Minelab sales in the Gold Detector and Treasure Detector products in South Africa. At the time there were two other Minelab Dealers in South Africa, Detectors 4 Africa and Astro Automation offering only the Minelab Gold Detector and Minelab Treasure Detector products.
