Manøvervåpenets viktigste samlingsplass siden 1882: Kavaleriklubben ble stiftet i 1882, som en interesseorganisasjon for Kavaleriets sekondløitnanter. Sekondløitnantene ble kalt «De udødelige» på grunn av avansementsforholdene i Kavaleriet. Klubben hadde den gang ingen skrevne lover, og eldstemann var Formann. Av muntlige overleveringer vet vi, at alle nye kavalerioffiserer var selvskrevne medlemmer, med mindre de frasa seg medlemskap. Aktiv i debatten om hærens fremtid og dens offensive kapasitet: Kavaleriklubben er åpen for befal og grenaderer som tjenestegjør eller har tjenestegjort i hærens Tapreste, Stolteste, Vakreste etc. våpengren: Kavaleriet AKA manøvervåpnet.
