Graz - City Of Design

Seit der Ernennung zur UNESCO City of Design im Jahr 2011 verfolgt die Stadt Graz das Ziel, Design, Kunst und Kultur in allen Lebensbereichen sichtbar und erlebbar zu machen. Dabei steht besonders der gesellschaftliche Mehrwert dieser Bereiche im Fokus. Internationale Zusammenarbeit im UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) Graz ist gemeinsam mit 48 weiteren Designstädten Teil des weltweiten Netzwerks der Kreativstädte. In regelmäßigen Videokonferenzen und bei zwei jährlichen UNESCO-Konferenzen tauschen sich die Städte über Best Practices aus, entwickeln gemeinsame Projekte und arbeiten in Workshops an aktuellen Herausforderungen - etwa zum Thema Design mit gesellschaftlichem Mehrwert. Zudem engagieren sich alle Kreativstädte in der UNESCO Mondiacult Declaration, die Kultur als 18. Nachhaltigkeitsziel (SDG) ab 2030 verankern möchte. Förderung der Kreativszene Die Wirtschaftsabteilung fördert die Kreativszene durch Projekte und Initiativen, die kreative Leistungen sichtbar machen und zur Vernetzung beitragen. Über die Website kreatives-graz.at sowie die Social-Media-Kanäle der City of Design werden Kreativschaffende, innovative Unternehmen, Veranstaltungen und herausragende Projekte vorgestellt. So entsteht eine Plattform, die Inspiration, Austausch und die Vielfalt der Grazer Kreativwirtschaft sichtbar macht.
