Company ECLECTIC FONTS FOR LIVING BRANDS. Parachute® is an acclaimed European type foundry which was founded in 2001 by Panos Vassiliou. He was later joined by 13 other designers all coming from diverse design fields. Apart from its commercial line of typefaces, Parachute® offers bespoke branding services for corporate typefaces and lettering. For over a decade, Parachute has provided custom and corporate font services to high profile international customers such as Bank of America, European Commission, UEFA, Samsung, IKEA, Interbrand, National Geographic, Financial Times, National Bank of Greece, Alpha Bank and many others. During its first 2 years Parachute focused in the local market by offering a select number of Latin and Greek typefaces including a few revivals of historical importance. Ever since, an emphasis was placed in developing multilingual support for its existing type library as well as for new releases. The list included several award-winning typefaces such as Centro, Champion Script, Regal and Bague. All Parachute fonts have been designed to offer multilingual support for major scripts such as Latin, Greek and Cyrillic. Latest entries support Arabic as well. Over the years, studios' design work have received several prizes, in local and international commercial circuits. P M studied graphic design at Akto College (1992-95) and graduated from the 3rd sculpture studio of the Athens School of Fine Arts (2007-2013), under Professor George Lappas. Atopos Cvc
Atopos cvc is a non-profit, cultural organisation interested in the expression and adornment of the human body. It researches and initiates innovative projects of contemporary visual culture in an ‘atopic’ manner. The word ‘atopos’, from the ancient Greek “άτοπος”, refers to that which is the strange, the unwonted, the eccentric and the unclassifiable. It was founded in 2003 by Stamos Fafalios and Vassilis Zidianakis and were later joined by Angelos Tsourapas. With their varying backgrounds of art, architecture, anthropology and mathematics, the three merged their interests to create an interdisciplinary platform for the arts. Atopos cvc collaborates with museums, galleries and independent artists, co-producing and implementing new ideas in the form of exhibitions, publications, installations and performances. Through such collaborations it has assembled a unique collection of rare historical garments and original creations by contemporary designers that relate to the human figure. Atopos cvc has recently instigated a residency programme in its headquarters in Athens with the aim of collaborating on projects with invited young artists.
