The University of Guyana Economics Society (UGES) is the student-led body representing Economics students at the University of Guyana. We are committed to intellectual development, leadership cultivation, and academic excellence. Our mission is to create a vibrant platform for students to explore economic ideas, engage in critical discussions, and apply economic thinking to real-world challenges—both locally and globally. Through forums, debates, seminars, research projects, and outreach, UGES seeks to: enrich the academic journey of Economics students, promote evidence-based policy thinking, foster collaboration between students, academics, and professionals and inspire the next generation of economists, analysts, and leaders We welcome partnerships, participation, and mentorship from all who share a vision for Guyana’s economic future and the development of young thought leaders.
