Ispahani Public School and College has a splendid history and a glorious past. At the outset it started its journey as a Cantonment Public School in Cumilla Zilla School located in the Cumilla Town in September 1962. At the beginning it was an English Medium Co-education School from Kindergarten to class X. It was shifted to present Cantonment Board High School in January 1963.Hostel facility was introduced in April 1963 taking up Engineers Battalion Line in the Cantonment, presently 101 Brigade Sainik Barrack.The first batch appeared at the SSC examination in 1964. It was renamed as Mainamati Public School in June 1965. Eminent benefactor late Mr. Mirza Ahmed Ispahani financed the construction of the present building and the school was renamed as Ispahani Public School in September 1966. The foundation stone was laid by Maj Gen Fazal Muqueem Khan, the then GOC, 14 Division. During the War of Liberation the school was closed and used as a concentration camp. Lt Col M K Amil, a non-Bengalee officer, was the Principal at that time. Eleven teachers of this School were killed by the Pakistan Army. The College was merged with the School in October 1975 and was finally named ‘Ispahani Public

Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College, Sylhet is situated in divisional headquarter of Sylhet Division and located at Ragib-Rabeya Medical College Road, Pathantula, Sylhet, Bangladesh. Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College, Sylhet which is about 225 km from Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Sylhet is the land of saints and Sufis and may be termed as the spiritual centre of Bangladesh. It is surrounded by lush tea gardens, hills and valleys in a picturesque landscape. It has an excellent rail, road, air and river communications linking with capital City Dhaka as well as Port City Chittagong. It takes only 22 minutes by air from Dhaka to Sylhet and 41/2 hours by road. The college has two 10 storied twin tower near the hospital building. Six floors of each building is now completed and the remaining four floors of each building are to be completed very soon. At present, the college is having 3,64,600 sft. After completion of the 10 storied twin tower the total floor space of the college will be 5,13,300 ft.

Faculty Of Fine Art, University Of Dhaka

At present the institute has eight departments—Graphic Design, Oriental Art, Ceramics, Drawing and Painting, Sculpture, Crafts, History of Arts and Printmaking. Programmes include four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA Honours) and two-year Master of Fine Arts (MFA) for all departments. The number of students enrolled annually has gone up—from 80 to around 120. The Graphic Design department has a new computer lab. Students of FFA now have options to work part-time (at media houses and ad firms) and the commercial aspect of BFA and MFA degrees from the institute now seems favourable, opportunities the previous generations did not enjoy. There are 43 permanent teachers and most of the teachers are eminent artists of the country. FFA is an important centre of Modern art practice in Bangladesh. Many eminent and internationally renowned artists of Bangladesh were the students of this Faculty. The importance of this Art Institute in the cultural life of Bangladesh cannot be overemphasized. For the last 50 years, it has worked not simply as an institution imparting art education but also as a cultural centre for Bengalis, functioning as a force for cultural revival and regeneration.
