Destination Imagination In Africa
Destination Imagination (DI) is a global educational nonprofit dedicated to inspiring the next generation of innovators, leaders and creative problem solvers. We are focused on providing educational experiences that develop 21st century skills through the Creative Process. Our Mission and Vision as well as a short video and a description of the Creative Process are located here. Teams are organized by age into five levels from age 4 through to university level students. Once a team is formed and they purchase their membership, they will have access to the Challenges (new every season), the Roadmap (activity and curriculum guide) and the Rules of the Road (rules and regulations). The adult who works with the team, the Team Manager, will have access to our online training portal. Teams work together developing skills through the activities in the Roadmap and by solving 1 of the available Challenges. This process normally takes 2-4 months depending on the frequency of your meetings and the age of the participants. Teams showcase their solutions at local events. At these local events, teams present their Challenge solution in the form of a performance (feel free to watch this video which shows the team journey) in front of trained DI Appraisers earning scores and feedback. You can see where DI events are located near you on our Find Your Location page. Please consider subscribing to our newsletter or following us on social media through our main landing page. And if you would like a more personal explanation of DI, maybe you would like to sign up for one of our live webinars.
