The Girls' Network
The Girls’ Network aims to inspire and empower girls aged 14-19 from the least advantaged communities by connecting them to a mentor and a network of positive role models who are women. MENTORS Mentoring is an amazing way to share your experience and skills with a girl that might not benefit from this support otherwise. It is also a great way to show a teenage girl that you believe in her and she is worth investing time in. This is a powerful combination, and one that we have seen transform the lives of girls and young women again and again. We are looking for women who have had experience of the workplace, who have time and willingness to support a girl from one of the least-advantaged communities across the country, and who want to support a girl to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities. We ask our mentors for a commitment of at least one hour a month, over the course of the year. Visit our website to apply. SCHOOLS Do you work with 14-19 year old girls? Are some of the girls that you work with eligible for pupil premium? Could they benefit from a dedicated mentor? If so, then we could help! We will match your students with an inspiring professional, who will support them over the course of an academic year. Alongside this mentoring, we also provide access to high quality workshops, exclusive networking opportunities and work experience that girls may never have had access to otherwise. CORPORATES We partner with corporates in a number of ways, from training your female staff to mentor and matching them with a teenager in London, to one-off workshops giving you a chance to share insight into your company with young talent from harder to reach communities.

The UCL Academy is an 11-18 Academy, sponsored by UCL and opened in Swiss Cottage in Camden in September 2012. UCL is an institution which was founded to ensure equality of access to education. It is therefore important to us that the UCL Academy supports students of all backgrounds and all abilities. The UCL Academy is not a selective Academy. The UCL Academy opened in 2012 with 180 students in Year 7 (we call this Foundation Level) and 125 Year 12 (we call this Level 3). We now have over 1100 students and nearly 200 staff. We want the UCL Academy to fire the imaginations of its students and to support them to develop in ways which stand them in good stead for their future lives and responsibilities as individuals, employees and citizens. The UCL Academy has four key priorities: • High academic and personal standards for students and a commitment to developing individual potential; • Specialism in science, technology, visual arts, engineering and Maths (STEAM); • Languages at the heart of the curriculum; • A mission to provide ‘education for global citizenship’. The UCL Academy is an exciting, stimulating place to learn, with a curriculum which focuses on problem-solving, skills development and ‘real world’ issues and ideas. Students have the opportunity to undertake extensive project work, and to participate in community activities as well as internships and international exchanges.

Tiro
We're Tiro (pronounced ‘Tea-ro’ as in white, two sugars). In Latin, it means novice, recruit, apprentice, beginner and soldier. The perfect name for a company that’s been helping fearless apprentices to join ambitious businesses since 2005. We believe that great apprenticeships help everyone. There are remarkable apprentices out there just waiting to be found, and fantastic employment opportunities waiting to be filled. Our work will never be just about getting bums on seats and pocketing our commission. In our own small way, we’re helping to change the world – finding people that are working on COVID vaccines, finding new ways for technology to help humanity and helping to tackle the big issues of the day, like climate change. As well as helping people – young and old – to find their way. Tiro’s proud to be playing our part in making that happen, and we can’t wait to find out what happens next…
