Academic Minds
Academic Minds is a educational freelance business, in its 16th year of trading. The team is an eclectic mix of characters that blends graduates, PhDs and a plethora of different national identities. Our aim is to provide a holistic education, supplying university students with the apparatus required to reach their potential in the academic system. The majority of clients are international students studying in the UK, often in their second language. Generally speaking, they attend universities outside of the Russell Group and are struggling with their courses due to the language barrier and low levels of contact time with their tutors and supervisors. Our commercial aim is to fill the void left by those universities and help our students to reach their potential. Our company’s central ambition is to use new technologies to streamline the educational process and increase the direct interaction between students and their subject matter. To achieve this we employ a number of academic staff that are responsible for the face-to-face (or often screen-to-screen) contact with our clients. We conduct live lecture streams, e-mentoring programs, Skype tutorials and we run interactive revision classes through our bespoke software. We also offer our clients access to model content tailored to their course. This content is then employed in a number of different ways: to form the basis of a tutorial, to illustrate the characteristics of successful academic work, to highlight and explain reading beyond the student’s course guidelines and to provide the client with a corpus of materials to base their revision on. We are currently on the lookout for passionate, skilled people to join our expanding enterprise. If this sounds like you, get in touch —
