Three2six Refugee Children's Education Project
Three2Six was founded in 2008 at Sacred Heart College, Observatory, Johannesburg. It later expanded to Observatory Girls' Primary School and Holy Family College. It is a bridging education programme at which children at taught English, Maths and Life Skills by refugee teachers every weekday from 3pm until 6pm using the facilities of the host schools. The children are educated, fed, transported and receive all the necessary scholastic equipment and uniforms. It currently accommodates 225 refugee, asylum seeker and migrant children who are unable to access public schooling for various reasons. The project operates from Grade R to Grade 5. Its primary goal is for its learners to transition into mainstream schooling.
