Tumaini Open School
Girls in Tanzania often withdraw from school when they are pregnant, regardless of consent. Government schools are unwelcoming and private schools are unaffordable. We are developing an inclusive and stigma-free learning center to help these girls regain their educational goals and eventually access higher education and technical training. Such Alternative Education Pathways (AEPs) are a proven model of enabling teenage mothers to continue an education.

Schulbank E.V
SCHOOLBANK IS THE SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM FOR EDUCATION IN TANZANIA. Equal opportunities for all! SCHULBANK scholarships give needy orphans access to qualified education and thus a perspective of financial security, self-determination and satisfaction in their country. AIDS - 1.3 million orphans. Tanzania struggles with one of the world's highest rates of AIDS. As a result, the number of orphans in Tanzania is very high. Children born with minimal educational opportunities. Educational misery in Tanzania. Qualified education is the exception rather than the rule in Tanzania's state schools. Parents who have the opportunity send their child to a private school. Why we support through a scholarship program? Because we do not want to interfere in education and invest in infrastructure projects. Because we believe in the potential of Tanzania's young generation and want to support their aspirations and fight for equal opportunities without detours. For our education sponsors, this is the most sustainable form of support. How does a sponsorship help? For SCHULBANK, sponsorships are an important component of our funding. Shoulder to shoulder with parents, schools, orphanages, and many others, the school costs are jointly covered. Thus, about half of the costs are already covered by Tanzanian participation. We call this solidarity aid. For our education sponsors this is a kind of support where they can follow the effect of their support directly and nevertheless with a reasonable distance. Our education sponsorships are deliberately different from typical child sponsorships. Arrange a meeting with us to get first-hand answers to your questions or find out more on our website at

The Kutamani Foundation
The Kutamani Foundation is a small Non-Profit organization, which works to provide quality education to children affected by poverty in East Africa. Our programs aim to provide professional development and support for the 60% of underqualified grassroot teachers, working in schools in Arusha, Tanzania. Sustainability, cultural strengthening, relevance to the children, local needs and equality remain the focus of our educational approach. According to the 2014 National Examinations in Tanzania, only 8% of grade two pupils could read properly. We are working to improve this by directly supporting Teachers, so disadvantaged children have equal access to quality education, so they are able to continue with schooling. Our approach to supporting education is unique, scalable and has a large impact on a significant number of children. Our program will operate through three main target initiatives, which directly target the key challenges that have been conveyed by Teachers in Tanzania. These are-'THE COURSE' The Kutamani Foundation is working with 4 qualified educators here in Australia, to develop a ‘Teacher upskill’ program, centered around the pre-primary/standard I - II Tanzanian curriculum and syllabus. The course is specifically designed to target the 60% of under-qualified educators working in grassroots schools-'THE RESORUCE CENTER' Through our local center, we will also operate a ‘resource center’, which will be made available to all local educators who seek to utilize the service. The resource center operates on a library system, where teachers can have access to Textbooks, learning resources, books, computers and the internet-'COLLABORATION' The final pillar of the program is designed to promote collaboration between teachers, parents and school management. We will coordinate regular meetings, and workshops both within our center and during outreach at local schools, to encourage PL, Teacher planning sessions, and community engagement.
