Fisci
At FiSci, our vision is to transform wildfire management across the full lifecycle. We are focused on the critical challenge of mitigation and the prevention of catastrophic bushfires, providing advanced analytics to help organisations move from a reactive to a proactive stance on risk. Our flagship platform, FiSci Mitigate, is a cloud-based strategic tool designed for bushfire risk analytics and mitigation planning. It empowers users to create projects for specific regions, analyse environmental conditions, run powerful simulations, and generate actionable insights to support planning, decision-making, and reporting. Mitigate delivers three levels of powerful analytics:* Descriptive: Understand your landscape with dynamic, fully customisable layers for vegetation, fire history, and fuel loads.* Predictive: Model the future. Our platform predicts fuel load accumulation over time and runs sophisticated fire spread simulations under any weather scenario. Users can visualise "Risk From"(where the most dangerous fires start) and "Risk To"(which areas are most frequently impacted), complete with 3D playback and KPIs like fireline intensity and flame height.* Prescriptive: Go beyond just identifying risk. Actively plan your response. Users can build, test, and compare multiple mitigation strategies (e.g, prescribed burns, mechanical thinning) against a "No Mitigation" baseline. This allows you to quantify the effectiveness of your treatments and even analyse their financial costs. Mitigate is built for a wide range of organisations, including government agencies, utilities, infrastructure operators, land managers, and environmental organisations. Whether you are conducting development assessments, planning renewable energy projects, protecting forestry assets, or managing critical infrastructure, our platform provides the quantitative, evidence-based analysis needed for defensible, outcome-based planning.

Northshore State Emergency Service Ses Unit
The SES is a division of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) made up of volunteers from every walk of life who give up their time to help others during emergency situations or when disaster strikes. Supported by an extensive network of over volunteers and 1076 career firefighters DFES works together with the community and government to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from a diverse range of emergencies. The Northshore SES unit covers the Perth CBD as well as the following council municipalities: Nedlands, Claremont, Cottesloe, Peppermint Grove, Mosman Park, Subiaco, Cambridge and Vincent. We train our volunteers to be able to deal with whatever emergency situation may confront them, as well as many other support & miscellaneous roles. There is no such thing as a 'typical' callout. However, the more common types of incidents for our unit include searching for missing persons, storm damage, fallen trees, collapsed ceilings, flooding and buildings damaged by vehicle impacts. Statewide, the SES takes the lead role in countering the effects of, and managing, the reactions to floods, cyclones, storms, earthquakes and tsunami threats. Consider this: Western Australia is approximately 2.5M square kilometres in size. With approximately SES volunteers in WA, that works out to 1,250 square kilometres per volunteer!

Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club
The Noosa Heads Surf Life Saving Club is located on the beachfront at Noosa Main beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. This iconic Club has served the local community continuously since 1928 and is well known and respected in National and International Life Saving circles. The first steps in the history of the Noosa Heads SLSC occurred on April 1, 1928 when Alexandra Headlands Club visited Tewantin and “the Heads” to give a display for local men. And so began the “Cooroy Royal Life and Surf Club”. A public meeting was held on 9th April 1928 at Cooroy and on April 30 the name was changed to Noosa Heads Royal Life and Surf Club. In December 1928, thirteen members gained their Royal Life Saving Society Still Water and Surf Bronze, thus qualifying to patrol the beach. In 1929 a club House was placed on the beach and in May 1931 the name was changed to Noosa Life Saving and Surf Club. Since then the club has continued to patrol the beach with the proud record of no lives lost on Noosa Beach while lifesavers were on patrol. In the 2008/2009 season the club underwent a major refurbishment. We are now very proud to have a clubhouse rated as one of the finest on the Sunshine Coast with “the best seat on the beach”. Our Supporters’ club is run very successfully by a committee and the Club Manager and provides a great source of finances for “active” needs to ensure we can continue to provide the best in public safety, community involvement and leadership, youth development, beach management and surf sports.
