MY DROP IN THE OCEANS A Non-governmental Organisation founded on the belief that economic and social progress depends on fundamentally changing the way we value nature. WHAT IF WE FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGED THE WAY WE VALUE NATURE? Nature’s wealth is its capital. What we take from nature’s capital, when we produce and consume, has a value to human society and a cost to nature. Many of nature’s costs are hidden, not accounted for by consumers, businesses or governments, instead revealing themselves as deficits through the degradation of ecosystems. We need to make a fundamental shift from seeing nature as a resource to seeing it as a provider of resources, in doing so recognising that our lifestyles bear a cost to nature that needs to be compensated. Oceans represent the single most important life supporting ecosystem on earth. 70% of the oxygen we breathe is produced therein, 90% of global trade is transported across them, 55% of living carbon is captured within them and over a billion people depend on them as a primary source of protein. And yet, their fragile equilibrium is seriously threatened, out of sight out of mind, under the pressures of an economic system which currently fails to make adequate allowances for their maintenance or protection, least of all the steady flow of goods and services they provide to us. DIVIDENDS FOR NATURE Our mission is to promote the implementation of a Citizen's Dividend for Nature around the globe.

Après plusieurs années de candidature, le Parc naturel du Jorat a été labellisé en mai 2021, devenant ainsi le premier parc naturel périurbain de Suisse romande et le second à l’échelle nationale. Il a pour missions de préserver la biodiversité forestière, d’accueillir et sensibiliser les visiteurs aux fonctions de la forêt, de valoriser et mettre en réseau les partenaires économiques du Jorat et d’assurer le suivi scientifique du Parc, véritable laboratoire à ciel ouvert.

Water Convention Protocol On Water & Health
Adopted in Helsinki in 1992, the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (Water Convention), serviced by UNECE, is a unique international legal instrument and intergovernmental platform which aims to ensure the sustainable use of transboundary water resources by facilitating cooperation. Initially negotiated as a regional instrument, it has been opened up for accession to all UN Member States in 2016. It currently has 55 Parties. The Water Convention support countries through the application of its strategy for implementation at global level and its current programme of work for 2019-2021, which aims to strengthen cooperation and partnerships for the management of transboundary waters worldwide in order to promote sustainable development and peace. The Programme of Work supports policy processes and technical cooperation from the national, to the basin and global levels and focuses on various topics such as adaptation to climate change, the water-food-energy-ecosystem nexus approach or the sustainable financing of transboundary water cooperation. The Protocol on Water and Health, jointly serviced by UNECE and WHO office for Europe, is a unique legally binding instrument aiming to protect human health by better water management and by reducing water-related diseases. Adopted in and opened for accession to all pan-European countries, the Protocol provides a practical framework to translate into practice the human rights to water and sanitation and to implement SDG 6, addressing the main challenges related to water, sanitation and health in the pan-European region. It currently has 27 Parties. The Protocol supports countries in areas such as preventing and reducing water-related diseases; institutional water, sanitation and hygiene; small-scale water supplies and sanitation, safe and efficient management of water supply and sanitation systems and equitable access to water and sanitation.
