The ‘Mediterranean Marine Life Center’, also referred to as the ‘Zante Turtle Center’ is a a non-governmental organisation (NGO) on the island of Zakynthos (Zante), in Greece. The mission of the Zante Turtle Center is to protect Caretta caretta (loggerhead sea turtles) and other marine life in and around the island of Zakynthos. Gerakas is at the heart of the Caretta caretta nesting ground, and we are working to stave off the damaging tourist development in the area to ensure that this endangered species is not overlooked. Our aim is to show how conservation and sustainable tourism can work together to benefit visitors, locals, and wildlife alike.

RAM EUROPE was founded in 1951 by ANDREAS TH. RENTZOS at Orchomenos, Viotia, and was dealing exclusively with the manufacturing of special agricultural machinery. From 1988 and then, in collaboration with European companies, the company’s main activity changed to environmental protection by producing beach cleaning machines and offering beach cleaning services and, later on, to a wide variety of equipment for special environmental maintenance and protection works,including manufacturing and sales of multi‐purpose vehicles AMBIENTE,and heavy duty rescue vechicle JUMBO TRACK MULTI for environmental and fire‐fighting services. Today we work in the development of environmental projects in the sector of waste management and specialy in the composting and recycling- ECOBALLA project.Also projects with the biomass and pelletising of them for the production of renewable energy using Cotton pellets®. From 1986, RAM EUROPE in cooperation with CRES (Center for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving) has developed research projects and has entered in REW technology and, especially, in the exploitation of biomass. Adaptivegreece Life-Ip Project
The LIFE-IP AdaptInGR "Boosting the implementation of adaptation policy across Greece" is the most important project for adapting Greece to climate change. The project is coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Energy and implemented in cooperation with 18 strategic partners from central government, regional and local authorities, academia, and NGOs. The project has eight years duration (2019-2026) and an overall budget of €14.2 million. An €8.3 million of the budget comes from EU funding, €2.5 million from national funding (Green Fund), €3.1 million from partners funding and €0.3 million from private sector co-financers. The project aims to endorse the implementation of the National Adaptation Strategy (NAS) and of the 13 Regional Adaptation Action Plans (RAAPs) and to prepare their revisions through actions and activities at national, regional and local level.
