Plitvice Lakes National Park
The Plitvice Lakes National Park is open to visitors all year round. The touring and sightseeing zone mainly covers the area around the lakes and the waterfalls. There are many hiking trails and two educational trails. We recommend you obtain up-to-date information about the available tours prior to making your visit, as the tours are largely affected by the current season and the weather conditions in the Park. The opening times and Entrances available also vary accordingly. Please use the information you obtain in order to select the suitable outfit for your holiday. Another thing worth noting is the multitude of steps (the ascent) and the altitude difference of 133 m between the first and last lake (Lake Prošća and Lake Novakovića Brod). All three Entrances to the National Park are open from mid-April to the end of October: Entrance 1, Entrance 2 and the auxiliary Entrance Flora. In this period, panoramic train tours and electric boat rides on Lake Kozjak are usually available. Regardless of the point you choose to enter the Park, there are half-day tours (3- 4 hours) and full-day tours (5-6 hours) available. All tours are circular, most of the time you will walk and the program will take you back to the starting point. The tickets include panoramic train and electric boat rides in all of the selected programs. In case of snow or ice, the train rides will be cancelled. Please ask for the latest train and boat schedules in order not to miss the last one. Between November and mid-April, only Entrance 1 and the Lower Lakes are open to visitors. Access is more or less limited to walking. Nacionalni Park Krka
Nacionalni park Krka smješten je na području Šibensko-kninske županije i obuhvaća površinu od 109 km² najljepšeg toka rijeke Krke i donji tok rijeke Čikole. Park je prostrano, pretežito neizmijenjeno područje iznimnih i višestrukih prirodnih vrijednosti, a obuhvaća jedan ili više sačuvanih ili neznatno izmijenjenih ekosustava. Namjena mu je prije svega znanstvena, kulturna, odgojno-obrazovna i rekreativna, a zbog posjetitelja postoje i turističke djelatnosti. S potopljenim dijelom ušća Krka je duga oko 72,5 km. Sa sedam sedrenih slapova i ukupnim padom od 224 m, Krka je prirodni i krški fenomen. Sedreni slapovi rijeke Krke temeljni su fenomen ove rijeke. Sa svojih sedam sedrenih slapova i ukupnim padom od 224m, Krka je prirodni i krški fenomen. Životinjski svijet Nacionalnog parka Krka vrlo je bogat i raznolik s brojnim endemičnim, rijetkim i ugroženim svojtama. I raznolik biljni svijet s 1022 svojta privlači stručnjake i posjetitelje. Na području Nacionalnog parka Krka nalaze se mnogi kulturnopovijesni spomenici. To su arheološki lokaliteti, spomenici sakralne baštine, spomenici industrijske arhitekture. Posjetiteljima je zanimljivo etno selo koje čuva uspomenu na stare obrte i načine života, a za koje je uprava NP "Krka" nagrađena Zlatnim cvijetom Europe 2006. godine. Sjedište Javne ustanove NP Krka nalazi se u Šibeniku, a ispostave su u Skradinu, Drnišu i Kninu. Nacionalnim parkom Krka upravlja Javna ustanova u nadležnosti Ministarstva zaštite okoliša i prirode RH. Djelatnost Ustanove uključuje zaštitu, održavanje i promicanje Nacionalnog parka u cilju zaštite i očuvanja izvornosti prirodnih dobara te nadzor nad provođenjem uvjeta i mjera zaštite prirode na zaštićenom području. Tijela Javne ustanove čine Upravno vijeće i ravnateljica Nella Slavica.
