Birdlife Serbia - Bird Protection And Study Society Of Serbia
Bird Protection and Study Society of Serbia was established on November 18th 1989 as Bird Protection and Study Society of Vojvodina. Society was founded as a result of activities of the Commission for Study and Protection of Birds of The Society of Ecologists of Vojvodina, which gathered professional and amateur ornithologists mainly from the territory of Serbian Province of Vojvodina. Initially, the activities of the Bird Protection and Study Society of Serbia involved issuing of journal and annual gatherings of its members. There were no other common activities and after issuing the 4th volume of the magazine in 1992, the journal and the Society came to a crisis. In the next two years the magazine was not published, after which one volume was published in 1995, followed by another one year break. In 1997, the Society began to consolidate and the office was moved into the premises of the Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia (Institute for Nature Conservation of Vojvodina Province). Working principles such as: publishing, education research and protection of birds were addressed. The society fully turned to project work, and taking into account the increased interest of the local and international donators for environmental non-governmental organizations in Serbia, developed project activities. At the same time, the number of members of the Society increased. Decision on change of name of Society, in line with its dedicated work in the whole territory of Serbia and strategic way towards establishing the partnership with BirdLife International, was adopted on the General Assembly on 18 December 2010 by majority of voices of members. Today, is an active and committed organization that carefully maintains a network of active members throughout Serbia who work on bird and habitat conservation and increase of knowledge about birds in Serbia at local, regional and national levels. Rumekon started business in 1998 as a small workshop with only five employees. Over the following years our business has been steadily expanding and growing so our capacities and number of employees have increased. In line with our continuous growth and development, the company management has completely turned the production program with a purpose to protect and save environment. Our company transformed into the Limited Liability Company (d.o.o) 2007. Over 35 % of our products are exported to EU countries, while 65 % is sold in the domestic market. Today we employee 35 production workers, 10 Engineers and Managers. Our manufacturing plant is m2 big, and we process more than 120 t of steel per month in finish products. Over 15 years in business we have manufactured over ten thousand Waste containers.

Ekostar Pak is a licensed packaging waste management system operator, operating in accordance with the principle of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). On behalf of our clients, companies that place packaging on the Serbian market, we organize the collection, recovery and recycling of packaging waste and ensure compliance with the targets set by the Packaging Waste Reduction Plan Regulation and the Law on Packaging and Packaging Waste. Ekostar Pak operates on the principles of efficiency and cost-effectiveness, investing significant financial resources into the development of a system for collecting and recycling packaging waste from both businesses and households across Serbia.
