Sumber Unggas berdiri tahun 2011. Diawali usaha budidaya/ pembesaran ayam Kampung pedaging di Desa Cogreg kecamatan Parung Kabupaten Bogor. Seiring meningkatkan kebutuhan DOC (Daily Old Chicken) untuk kebutuhan sendiri, Sumber Unggas juga menjalankan usaha pembibitan (breeding) ayam Kampung asli. Pada tahun 2015, produksi DOC Kampung asli mulai dijual kepada peternak-peternak lainnya di sekitar Bogor dan Sukabumi. Tahap pertama terdapat 5 kandang untuk populasi indukan sebanyak ekor serta mesin tetas modern berkapasitas butir. Dalam sebulan sebulan menghasilkan ekor DOC berkualitas terbaik dari standar Good Breeding Practice (GBP) serta pengawasan kesehatan dan bio sekuriti yang ketat. Pemasarannya sekarang sudah menjangkau Sumatera, Jawa, Kalimantan dan Sulawesi. Saat ini sedang menyiapkan pengembangan usaha dengan membangun sarana pembibitan (kandang dan mesin penetas) yang lebih besar. Pada awal tahun 2017 diharapkan mampu memproduksi sekitar 2,6 juta ekor/tahun dan proyeksi di tahun 2018-2019 sekitar 4,8 juta ekor/tahun. Untuk meningkatkan kualitas bibit ayam lokal asli (Indonesia native chicken), Sumber Unggas menambah jenis (strain), yaitu ayam Sentul, ayam KUB (Kampung Unggul Balitnak) serta ayam Kedu. Sumber Unggas bekerjasama dengan Balai Penelitian Ternak (Balitnak) Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pertanian, Kementerian Pertanian dan telah mendapatkan lisensi ayam KUB serta Pra Lisensi ayam SenSi (Sentul Seleksi) sehingga produk DOC hasilkan memiliki standar Agro Inovasi. Sebagai persyaratan memproduksi bibit yang berkualitas, sekarang dalam proses untuk mendapatkan Sertifikat Layak Bibit (SLB) yang didahului dengan Surat Keterangan Layak Bibit (SKLB) dari Dinas Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan Jawa Barat.
