Balai Pengujian Standar Instrumen Tanaman Industri dan Penyegar yang selanjutnya disebut BPSI Tanaman Industri dan Penyegar adalah salah satu institusi pemerintah Indonesia dibawah Pusat Standardisasi Instrumen Perkebunan, Badan Standardisasi Instrumen Pertanian, Kementerian Pertanian, Republik Indonesia hasil dari transformasi Balai Penelitian Tanaman Rempah dan Aneka Tanaman Industri (Balittri) karena perubahan tanaman mandat. Perjalanan panjang BPSI Tanaman Industri dan Penyegar dimulai ketika menjadi perkebunan (Afdeling) Pakuwon yang merupakan bagian dari PTP XI pada tahun 1975, kemudian menjadi Kebun Percobaan Pakuwon dari Lembaga Penelitian Tani Indonesia (LPTI) pada tahun 1976. Pada tahun 1980 berubah menjadi Sub Balai Penelitian Tanaman Industri Pakuwon dan Tahun 1984 Sub Balai Penelitian Kelapa Pakuwon. Dalam rentang waktu 10 tahun kemudian menjadi Loka Penelitian Pola Tanam Kelapa yang merupakan bagian dari Departemen Pertanian Republik Indonesia tahun 1994, ada perubahan kembali pada tahun 1998 menjadi Loka Penelitian Pola Tanam Kelapa di bawah Departemen Kehutanan dan Perkebunan. Pada tahun kembali di bawah organisasi Departemen Pertanian menjadi Loka Penelitian Tanaman Sela Perkebunan, Kemudian pada Tahun 2006 sesuai Permentan No.14/Permentan/OT-140/3/2006 berubah menjadi Balai Penelitian Tanaman Rempah dan Aneka tanaman Industri (Balittri) dan karena adanya perubahan tanaman mandat berubah menjadi Balai Penelitian Tanaman Industri dan Penyegar (Balittri) sesuai Permentan No.65/Permentan/OT-140/10/2011 dari tahun 2011 sampai Januari 2023. Akhirnya, pada 17 Januari 2023 melalui Peraturan Menteri Pertanian Republik Indonesia Nomor 13 Tahun 2023 menjadi Balai Pengujian Standar Instrumen Tanaman Industri dan Penyegar yang memiliki tugas melaksanakan pengujian standar instrumen tanaman industri dan penyegar.
