Genting Plantations
Genting Plantations Berhad (197701003946 (34993-X)) commenced operations in 1980 as the plantation arm of Genting Berhad. Having gained a listing on Bursa Malaysia on 30 August 1982, Genting Plantations Berhad has grown to become one of the Malaysia's leading oil palm plantation companies, with interests extending to property development and biotechnology. Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (”KLK”) started as a plantation company in 1906 and until today, the development of oil palm and rubber remains the Group’s core business. KLK presently has about hectares of planted area (97% oil palm). Our land bank is spread across Malaysia (Peninsular and Sabah), Indonesia (Belitung Island, Sumatra, as well as Kalimantan), and Liberia. In order to optimise value across the supply chain, KLK diversified into resource-based manufacturing (refinery and oleochemical), and vertically integrated its upstream, midstream and downstream businesses. The Group has since expanded its manufacturing operations resulting in an international oleochemicals operations in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy. Our first foray into property development was Sierramas in Sungai Buloh, a joint venture with Tan & Tan Developments Berhad, a wholly owned subsidiary of IGB Berhad. Wastech Group is a producer of specialty fertilisers and a specialist in the provision of agriculture and landscape irrigation systems. In 1984, Wastech was founded to produce organic fertilisers. It is Sarawak's leading broiler breeding company, developing quality products to meet the needs of the consumers. The integrated supply chain consists of breeder, hatchery and boiler farms. Our poultry abattoir is fully equipped with coldstorage facilities and full logistics set-up. Currently we process to birds per day.
