The Harvest Fund
We are a nonprofit social enterprise working to empower women farmers through microfinance and training in sustainable, climate-smart agricultural practices and technologies, promoting gender equality while helping African women rise from poverty. The Harvest Fund was founded to lift rural African women who farm, and their households, out of poverty. Initially launched as a charitable non-profit, we now leverage our agronomic business expertise through a hybrid social enterprise model that combines philanthropic capital with farmer revenue. Through our unique program we work with registered cooperatives of women smallholders, selecting the most talented, aiming to bridge the "agricultural gender gap" that exists in many countries in the Global South where women are the backbone of agriculture yet toil away with their bare hands and feet and very few agricultural tools. Through our three-year model, we link these women farmers with climate-smart technologies and train them in efficient, sustainable agricultural practices so their households can escape extreme poverty, avoid undernutrition, and fully educate the next generation. We believe in, and our model supports, the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development by 2030: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Gender Equality, Affordable Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, Climate Action, Life on Land and Partnerships for the Goals. Learn more at We believe in transparency and high impact for every individual, institutional and corporate donor. Email us at hello@theharvestfund.org so we can explore potential partnerships.

Kalomo Grain Marketing Ltd
Kalomo Grain Marketing Limited (KGML) is an agriculture company operating as a grain producing, processing and trading company. Founded and headed by Sarah Ngwenya, KGML was incorporated on 30th March 2010 under the Registration of Companies Act of the Laws of Zambia. The company was established to become a leader in the grain and commodities trade in Zambia with plans of expanding to other countries in the region. KGML is centered on the production of Supreme Oil, an edible oil produced from soya-beans. Supreme Oil is a Zambian owned vegetable oil brand produced to carter for the Zambian market as well as neighboring countries most of which have an edible oil deficit. Supreme Oil is manufactured from soya-beans that is produced at the KGML Farms with additional supply coming from 400 small-scale farmers incorporated in the KGML Supreme Women Co-operative Out-grower Scheme. KGML realized that having significant control of the processes in the edible oil value chain was key to the success of the company, it is for this reason that KGML produces its own key raw material in the cooking oil manufacturing processes, which is soya-beans. Out of the oil crops KGML manufactures and supplies the following products and by-products- Pure Vegetable Oil -Soyabeans Cake -Soya Meal -Soya-beans Grain Also through its Supreme Oil, KGML works with women smallholder farmers in Mumbwa through an initiative called Supreme Women Co-operative Society, who are supplied with certified soya bean seeds and fertilizer to grow soya beans on their farms, after which KGML buys the soya beans and processes them into 100% cholesterol free vegetable oil at its processing plant in nearby Nambwa, thus providing the locals with a ready market for their soya beans and a cheap highly nutritious vegetable oil which they provide to their families, as well as cheap soya bean cake for their livestock.
