Galerie Mucha

Mit der Vernissage am 23. Oktober 2011 eröffnete die Ärztin Dr. Melita Mucha ihre Galerie in Schwarzenbek und setzte damit ihre jahrzehntelange Ausstellungstätigkeit fort: Alle zwei Jahre organisierte sie in den von ihr geführten internistischen Praxen in Schwarzenbek und Geesthacht Ausstellungen von Künstlern, auf die sie durch ihre eigene Sammeltätigkeit aufmerksam wurde. Geboren in Siebenbürgen/Rumänien, kam sie während des Studiums in Hamburg mit dem hiesigen, reichhaltigen Kulturangebot in Kontakt. Aus Verbundenheit zur alten Heimat förderte sie ab 1987 durch zahlreiche Ausstellungen in ihren Praxisräumen insbesondere rumänische Künstler. So erhielten, mit durchweg großem Erfolg, die folgenden Künstler ein Forum zur Vorstellung ihrer Arbeiten: Georgeta Naparus, Octav Grigorescu, Horia Rosca, Fabritius Danku, Gabriel Constantinescu und Raimund Binder. Nach Aufgabe ihrer Praxistätigkeit widmet sich Frau Dr. Mucha mittels ihrer Galerie verstärkt der Förderung von Künstlern aus dem In- und Ausland und bietet ihnen die Möglichkeit, ihre Arbeiten vorzustellen. Anlässlich der Vernissagen sollen auch persönliche Begegnungen mit den Künstlern ermöglicht werden.

GECKELER MICHELS explores product functionality around human habits, with a forecasting eye on ever evolving usages and ways of expression. The duo articulates innovative positions, deliberately embracing history of design, contemporary technologies and digital design methods. GECKELER MICHELS’ functionalist approach is typically complemented by an intriguing detail or logic, lending the product a thrilling and thus long-standing narrative. David Geckeler and Frank Michels established their Berlin based design studio in 2013. Areas of work include furniture, lighting, products and spaces. The research-led practice focuses on autonomous in-house studies, as well as creative direction and product collections for their clients, whilst also producing editions and one-offs.

MOMENTUM is a non-profit platform for time-based art, active worldwide since 2010, with headquarters in Berlin at the Kunstquartier Bethanien Art Center. Having been founded by Dr. Rachel Rits-Volloch in Australia as a parallel event to the 17 Biennale of Sydney in May 2010, MOMENTUM moved to Berlin in January 2011. MOMENTUM’s program is composed of local and international Exhibitions, Artist and Curator Residencies, Video Art in Public Space Initiatives, a Performance Program and Archive, an Education Archive, and a growing Collection. By enabling Exhibition, Discussion, Research, Creation, Collection, and Exchange, MOMENTUM is a platform which challenges the notion of time-based art in the context of both historical and technological development. Taubert Contemporary

Founded 2013 in Berlin the gallery focuses on abstract painting, photography and site specific works and projects. Representing 18 national and international emerging and established artists and artist duos specialised in working with space, color, form and material in a specific manner, the gallery invites national and international guest artist and builds up international exchange exhibitions respectively. Thomas Taubert started in the art world in 1993 in Düsseldorf, Germany, with a non-profit exhibition space focussing exclusively on site specific installations. Taubert Contemporary participates in international art fairs as The Armory Show, PULSE Miami Beach, Dallas Art Fair, VOLTA New York and Basel. The gallery successfully placed works in a variety of public and private collections, including Fotomuseum Winterthur, Kunstmuseum Bonn, PAMM (Pérez Art Museum Miami) and many others. With the objective to present young, fresh art, our fairs aim to excite new target groups for contemporary art by transcending the elitist art fairs and their speculative, often exclusive, pricing policies. With a distinct focus on contemporary art production, the Discovery Art Fairs provide a direct insight into new trends and new positions of the art world, frequently introducing new faces to the visitors. With an open, spontaneous atmosphere, the fairs place a special value on the multilateral discussion and exchange happening between visitors, artists, and gallerists. As a result, the Discovery Art Fairs provide a diversified and unique art experience to the visitors, outside of the conventional museum and gallery scene. Every year, around 100 international exhibitors take part in each fair, showcasing their program to around art lovers and collectors. Their road of art discovery is marked by a special inclusive feature, as artists, galleries and project spaces exhibit next to each other, requiring an equal amount of attention. In such a welcoming, multiform environment, each visitor is inspired to embark on a quest and actually discover a new favorite piece of art at a moderate price.
