Villepin

Shaped by Dominique and Arthur de Villepin’s passion for art, Villepin is a gallery created by collectors for collectors. Inspired by the founders’ own collections and profound knowledge of the Asian art market, Villepin offers a new gallery concept based on the art of collecting. Through their experience building close friendships with artists, the father-son duo wish to share their expertise with fellow collectors by curating artworks that they themselves would love to collect, ultimately nurturing a unique model of collecting based on long-term relationships with artists and their estates or foundations. With their knowledge of the region’s art scene and strong commitment to the city, the new gallery program will exhibit work by some of the world’s most important artists, focusing on those whose work carries universal messages to demonstrate the power of art to build bridges and change lives. The French Girl Studio

Tronel's art embodies the power of creativity and individual action in reshaping our relationship with the world. The "Giant Crushed Cans" series invites viewers to embrace sustainability and sparks conversations on environmental consciousness. Her work has graced the likes of K11 MUSEA, the Hong Kong Convention Centre, the French Consul-General’s residence, Digital Art Fair Asia, Soho House and the French May Arts Festival, while being featured in a variety of international publications. A documentary featuring the series is also in production, set to be showcased at the International Movie Festival on Sustainable Development in Hong Kong in May 2024. Besides her Crushed Cans work - a statement on consumer culture, recycling and reimagining the disposable - Tronel’s twist on the Chinese symbol of Double Happiness - the Shining Heart - can be seen around town, symbolising souls intertwined and the need for (re)connection.

The Oriental Ceramic Society of Hong Kong was established in 1974 by a group of collectors and enthusiasts with a shared interest in Asian art and culture. It is dedicated to the open exchange of ideas and information between scholars, collectors and the public through a series of lectures, guided exhibition viewings, exclusive collection visits, popular study tours, and masterclasses.
