Sustainable fishing methods ensure that these stocks remain intact. Major specifies of fish caught include; Sole, Plaice, Hake, Cuttlefish and Pollack. The potters harvest Whelks, Crab and Lobsters. The majority of this fish is sold through local fish markets but the Waterdance fleet also supplies the group farm shop, the Greendale Farm shop (near Exeter) and utilises the Greendale haulage fleet to supply fish to Europe on a regular basis. Waterdance fishing vessels are all flagged to the UK; where the maritime safety standards are some of the highest in the world. In addition to the existing fleet, Waterdance has two exciting new builds under construction; a 35 metre Beam trawler – GEORGINA OF LADRAM, and a 15 metre Potter – NICHOLA OF LADRAM. Waterdance has over 120 ocean going personnel and a shore network of staff and wider employment footprint that lands, processes, distributes and sells seafood, supporting a strong South West local economy. James Knight Of Mayfair Ltd
We have been providing the highest quality, coastal fresh fish to the population of London & the South through restaurants, bars, hotels and many other fresh food outlets for over 100 years. We are proud to have held the Royal Warrant as Fishmongers for the Royal Family. Our story began in 1908 in a humble shop in Shepherd’s Market and we are now the capital’s largest independent seafood wholesaler, delivering fresh fish daily from our Vauxhall site. We are driven by addressing what matters to you and your customers, our belief in a sustainable fishing industry and paying attention to the following: We have respect for the sea. Its contents are a finite resource, so our products tell a story of good fishing, sustainability and aquaculture practice. We pay our suppliers a fair price, and like it to be reciprocated by our customers, making our relationships with them collaborative and honest. Our products are never artificially treated or excessively handled as we know this undermines quality and freshness. We employ generations of trained, passionate fishmongers who take pride in their work and the quality of product we deliver to our customers. Currently we have over 180 years of experience amongst our fishmongers so if there is a particular cut of fish you would like we are sure we can supply this to you.
