Skills Jersey
Skills Jersey, which includes Careers Guidance, Mentors, and the Skills Development Team, is part of the Children, Young People, Education and Skills Department. It is a centre of excellence with clear links connecting education and lifelong learners with industry. Our Careers Guidance team at Skills Jersey offer free, confidential and impartial advice to people of all ages including school pupils, students aged 16 and over and adult’s resident in Jersey. Our Skills Development team work closely with schools, parents, employers, the government, and the wider community to research, create, promote, and deliver a portfolio of skills development schemes and initiatives that meet the needs of the Island – now and in the future. Our Mentoring service supports young people within schools or transitioning out of school, people undertaking an apprenticeship and people who are upskilling with a programme of CPD or undertaking an accredited training course. Skills Jersey is dedicated to empowering local people of all ages to have the ability to choose and achieve positive career, life and learning goals, aligning with the needs of the Island, in collaboration with industry.

Parish Of St Helier
The Parish of St Helier is the largest of twelve parishes in Jersey, providing a range of municipal and other services across the capital of Jersey and the Parish. The Parish works with the Island’s Government, other parishes, and the voluntary and community sector, as well as private sector organisations. The Parish delivers services through two main operating divisions, employing over 200 staff and a wide range of honorary and volunteer roles.

Jersey Cyber Security Centre
Jersey Cyber Security Centre is the jurisdiction's Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT) and national technical authority for cyber security, responsible for promoting and improving the cyber resilience across the Island’s critical national infrastructure, business communities and citizens to reduce the risk and impact of major cyber incidents in Jersey. JCSC forms part of an international cyber emergency response network and represents the interests of Jersey internationally, helping to maintain and strengthen the Island’s international reputation as a safe place to live and to do business online. We can also provide expert assistance in the case of a cyber security incident. JCSC is an independent voice for cyber security and designed to operate at arms length from Government. JCSC is run by cyber security experts who can provide cyber security advice and best practice guidance on the management of cyber security risk to help you raise the awareness of the importance of cyber security within your own business, as well as help with incident response processes, policies and procedures.

Jersey is not part of the UK, but is a dependency of the British Crown and has been for many centuries. This means that Jersey is self-governing, with its own laws, self-government on domestic matters and an increasing role in representing the Island overseas. The Crown oversees Jersey’s governance, can sign treaties on behalf of the Island, and is responsible for Jersey’s defence. The States Assembly elects the head of Jersey’s government, known as the Chief Minister, as well as Ministers, and chairmen and members of scrutiny panels and of other committees. A wide variety of policy matters are debated by the States Assembly and these can be brought forward for debate by the Council of Ministers, individual Ministers or by backbenchers. Members are also able to ask questions to find out information and to hold Ministers to account. Anyone over the age of 16 who has been in Jersey for at least 2 years (or who has lived here for at least 5 years in the past and been back for at least 6 months) is entitled to vote in elections to select the members of the States. To stand for elections, candidates must be at least 18 years old and be British citizens who are entitled to be registered to vote. This page is managed by the States Greffe.

Jersey Audit Office
The office of Comptroller and Auditor General (C & AG) was established in 2005. Under the Comptroller and Auditor General (Jersey) Law 2014 the remit of the C & AG includes the audit of financial statements and wider consideration of public funds including internal control, value for money and corporate governance. The current C & AG is Lynn Pamment who was appointed to the Post in January 2020. Prior to her appointment as C & AG, Lynn was a lead partner in PwC UK’s Government and Public Sector Assurance practice where she gained over 30 years’ experience of working in an assurance and advisory capacity with public and private sector organisations in the UK and beyond. She was also PwC’s Cardiff Office Senior Partner responsible for PwC’s practice of over 250 professional staff in Wales. The Jersey Audit Office operates from de Carteret House, 7 Castle Street, St Helier, Jersey JE2 3BT.
