It implements Acts and other regulations adopted by the National Assembly. It is also responsible for the functioning of the state administration. As the highest body of the state administration, it issues regulations and adopts the legal, political, economic, financial, organisational and other measures required for the development of the State and for providing good conditions in all areas within its competence. It is composed of the Prime Minister and other ministers. The 15th Government of the Republic of Slovenia, led by Dr Robert Golob, was appointed by the National Assembly on 1st June 2022.

The Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes (CMEPIUS) is a public institution working in the field of international projects and international mobility. Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration Uprava Za Jedrsko Varnost
Uprava Republike Slovenije za jedrsko varnost je organ v sestavi Ministrstva za naravne vire in prostor. Na upravi opravljamo strokovne, upravne, nadzorne in razvojne naloge na področjih sevalne in jedrske varnosti, izvajanja sevalne dejavnosti in dejavnosti uporabe virov ionizirajočih sevanj (razen v zdravstvu ali veterinarstvu), varstva okolja pred ionizirajočimi sevanji, fizičnega varovanja jedrskih snovi in objektov, neširjenja jedrskega orožja ter varovanja jedrskega blaga. Na navedenih področjih opravljamo naloge inšpekcijskega nadzora, ob radioloških ali jedrskih izrednih dogodkih pa sodelujemo s Štabom Civilne zaščite Republike Slovenije pri določanju zaščitnih ukrepov za prebivalstvo in obveščanju. Izpolnjujemo tudi mednarodne obveznosti in opravljamo naloge mednarodne izmenjave podatkov. The Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration is a body within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning. The Administration performs professional, administrative, supervisory and development tasks in the areas of radiation and nuclear safety, radiation practices and the use of radiation sources (except in healthcare or veterinary medicine), protection of the environment against ionising radiation, physical protection of nuclear material and facilities, non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, and protection of nuclear goods. It undertakes inspections in these areas, and in the event of a radiological or nuclear emergency it cooperates with the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Slovenia in determining protective measures for the population and providing public information. It also fulfils international obligations and performs tasks of international data exchange.

Arao, Agency For Radioactive Waste Management
ARAO is an expert organisation specialising in the management of radioactive waste and spent fuel. It carries out state-authorised tasks and projects. Our mission is to establish a comprehensive system for the management of radioactive waste and spent fuel in Slovenia in accordance with the highest standards dictated and developed by the profession. As the generation that derives benefits from the use of radioactive material, we have a social responsibility to employ sustainable solutions and to avoid placing unnecessary radioactive waste management burdens on future generations. Paying due regard to domestic and foreign knowledge and expertise, ARAO has put in place a radioactive waste and spent fuel management system that seeks to permanently protect human health and the environment within and beyond Slovenia’s borders and that is, at the same time, technologically advanced in global terms and cost-effective in national terms. We strive to employ socially acceptable solutions and management processes. We follow established radioactive waste management principles, which are: the production of radioactive waste must be limited to the smallest quantities possible; radioactive waste must be separated from other hazardous waste; the safety of the storage and disposal of waste should be based on the use of multiple successive barriers that prevent ionising radiation and waste from spreading into the environment; the ‘polluter pays’ principle applies to the funding of radioactive waste management. We also adhere to the principles of ionising radiation protection, including the ALARA (‘as low as reasonably achievable’) principle, which means that, with due regard to technical, economic and social factors, all resources and methods are used to ensure that radiation doses are as low as possible and practicable. We comply with the standards and recommendations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

IMAD (The Institute of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development of the Republic of Slovenia) is an independent government office. We are responsible for preparation of macroeconomic forecasts that servse as the basis for budgetary planning, we monitor and analyse current trends and development in its economic, social and enviromental dimensions and achieving of the developmental objectives of the country; as national productivity board we analyse productivity and competitiveness. IMAD is an independent government office since 2011, its Director answers directly to the President of the Government. IMAD enjoys complete independence regarding technical and methodological questions related to the use of analytical and forecasting tools and the interpretation of results.
