Interact Programme
The European Union is a mix of cultures and economies that will reach its full potential through mutual under-standing and close cooperation. That is why the European Union supports cooperation in many ways. One of them is Interreg, an initiative specifically dedicated to helping European regions work together to find solutions to common economic, environmental, social and cultural challenges. There are more than 100 Interreg programmes managing thousands of cooperation projects throughout Europe who are dealing with these issues. The Interact programme’s specific mission is to support these programmes in their daily work. So to help them successfully navigate the Interreg world, we provide advice, organise learning events and develop a wide range of tools on: • How to manage a European cooperation programme or project and comply with EU rules on finance and controls. • How to communicate funding opportunities, as well as programme and project results. • How to use new cooperation tools. We also harmonise processes to help programmes work more efficiently and to make the life of project applicants easier. We act as a hub to allow programmes to exchange experiences and network. Finally, we constantly explore and encourage innovative ways of cooperating in Europe by supporting macro-regional and sea basin strategies as well as legal structures and initiatives to facilitate cooperation activities. We are financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and by the 28 EU member states, Norway and Switzerland, and we have a total budget of 46 million EUR for the 2014-2020 period. We are part of the Interreg programmes – which are financed under the European Territorial Cooperation objective of the European Structural Funds - but we also support cooperation at the external borders of the EU (IPA/ENI CBC), as well as new forms of territorial cooperation.

Public And Private Finance For Development
Public Finance for Development is the fruit of a long-running cooperation between the UNDP and the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic. It was launched in 2009 as part of Slovakia’s official development assistance effort. Its objective is to facilitate the sharing of Slovak knowledge and experience in public finance management with partner countries: Moldova, Montenegro, Ukraine, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Public Finance for Development (PFD) responds to capacity gaps in public finance management in the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries, in support to their EU accession path and sustainable development. The programme is implemented in close partnership between UNDP and the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic (MF SR). PFD builds on Slovak Republic´s unique reform and post-reform experience. We work hand-in-hand with partners to deliver tailor-made and programmatic solutions to strategic challenges in public finance management. Experts provide technical assistance in designing and implementing public finance reforms to central and local level institutions. Since its launch in September 2009, PFD has been contributing to public finance reform efforts of the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Ukraine, Macedonia and Serbia. Based on the experience from the PFD programme, Ministry of Finance of Slovakia jointly with World Bank Group Open Learning Campus, prepared a unique self-paced e-course Public Finance Management Reform: Case Study Slovakia.

Sociálna Poisťovňa
Sociálna poisťovňa bola zriadená 1. novembra 1994 zákonom č. 274/1994 Z. z. o Sociálnej poisťovni ako verejnoprávna inštitúcia poverená výkonom nemocenského poistenia a dôchodkového zabezpečenia, ktoré prevzala od svojej predchodkyne Národnej poisťovne. Od Slovenskej poisťovne prevzala 1. apríla 2002 aj poistenie zodpovednosti zamestnávateľa za škodu pri pracovnom úraze a pri chorobe z povolania – úrazové poistenie. Od 1. januára 2004 vykonáva sociálne poistenie na základe zákona č. 461/2003 Z. z. o sociálnom poistení, t.j. nemocenské poistenie, dôchodkové poistenie - starobné a invalidné, ďalej úrazové poistenie, garančné poistenie a poistenie v nezamestnanosti. Od 1. januára 2005 Sociálna poisťovňa vykonáva aj činnosti v rámci starobného dôchodkového sporenia – predovšetkým vyberá príspevky, postupuje ich dôchodkovým správcovským spoločnostiam a registruje zmluvy o starobnom dôchodkovom sporení. Social Insurance Agency in Slovakia was founded on 1 November 1994 by Act No. 274/1994 Coll. as a statutory institution to administer the sickness insurance and the pension security substituting thus its ancestor the National Insurance Institution. As of 1 April 2002, the Social Insurance Agency (SIA) has taken over from the Slovak Insurance Agency also the employer´s liability insurance in the case of occupational accident and occupational disease. As of 1 January 2004 SIA administers social insurance: that means the sickness insurance, the pension insurance – old-age and invalidity insurance, the accident insurance, the guarantee insurance and the unemployment insurance according to Act N. 461/2003 Coll of laws. As of 1 January 2005 is SIA responsible also for approval and acceptance of contracts with Pension Asset Management Companies (PAMCs) which administer II. pillar of the pension system i.e. the pension saving. In this connection SIA collects contributions for the II. pillar and sends it to PAMCs.
