Swedish Dialogue Institute For The Middle East And North Africa

The Swedish Dialogue Institute for the Middle East and North Africa is a governmental agency that serves as a platform for contacts and dialogue between on the one hand Sweden and the countries of Europe and on the other hand the countries of the Middle East and North Africa. In its activities, the Swedish Dialogue Institute addresses issues that are important for political, economic and social development, or for relations between the countries, or that help increase mutual understanding in the areas of culture and religion. It also promotes the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership within the European Union. The Institute will in the coming years focus on the following areas- Peace and Security - Sustainable Development - Inclusive participation The Institute operates through conferences, seminars, meetings and other activities. It is located in Amman. The Swedish Dialogue Institute was established by the government in 1998 and is an integral part of the Swedish Foreign Service. It was previously located in Alexandria, Egypt, under the name of the Swedish Institute Alexandria (SwedAlex). المعهد السويدي للحوار في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا هو وكالة حكومية بمثابة منصة للتواصل والحوار بين السويد وأوروبا من جهة وبين الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا من جهة أخرى. ومن خلال عدة أنشطة، يقوم المعهد السويدي للحوار بالتطرق لعدة مواضيع هامة لتلك الدول سواء على الصعيد السياسي، أو الاقتصادي، أو التنمية الاجتماعية، أو مواضيع تتعلق بالعلاقات ما بين تلك الدول والتي من شأنها زيادة التقارب والتفاهم فيما بينها على الصعيدين الثقافي والديني. كما يروج المعهد للشراكة ما بين دول حوض البحر المتوسط وبين الإتحاد الأوروبي. وسيكون اهتمام المعهد في السنوات القادمة منصب على المواضيع التالية- الأمن والسلام - التنمية المستدامة - المشاركة الشاملة ويعمل المعهد من خلال تقديمه لمؤتمرات وورش عمل واجتماعات وغيرها من النشاطات. يقع المعهد في العاصمة الأردنية عمان. تأسس المعهد السويدي للحوار عام 1998 من خلال خدمات الخارجية السويدية. وكان مقره سابقا في الإسكندرية في مصر تحت اسم المعهد السويدي في الإسكندرية.

Benhayyan Aqaba International Laboratories, Aseza

BEN HAYYAN Aqaba International Laboratories was one of the components of IS-ASEZA programme, a joint project between ASEZA and European Union Commission. BEN HAYYAN inaugurated in 15th of March 2007, and start receiving the samples in December 2007. BEN HAYYAN has been established to enhance Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority in guiding the Zone towards becoming a dynamic and attractive engine of economic growth. And also to enhance public health streamlining trade in the Zone, Jordan and the region. A state-of-the-art Physical, Chemical, and Microbiological Laboratories of BEN HAYYAN offer analytical and advisory services for food and environment operating under two interdependent units: the food laboratory and environmental laboratory. Spreading over an area of 4,200 square meters with 2,200 squares of well-built facilities. BEN HAYYAN has the appropriate administrative, sample reception, storage and support facilities. With more than 7 million Euros worth of equipment. BEN HAYYAN equipped with top of the line instruments and devices from leading laboratory manufacturers in Europe. BEN HAYYAN is supported with a distinguished team of managers, researchers, analysts of diverse and expertise. Meticulous selection of staff, motivation, continuous development and capacity building are used to attract and retain high caliber staff, and also to keep them in healthy conditions to support innovation and creation. For the first time, a very young organization BEN HAYYAN has granted the International and National accreditation (ISO 17025) in August 2008 before completing its first year. BEN HAYYAN is aiming to become a world-class center of excellence, promoting food safety and environmental protection, contributing to better world by improving the quality of life of people and facilitating trade within ASEZA, Jordan and the region.
