Abem-Burundi
The Medical Students’ Association of Burundi, known by its acronym ABEM, is a non-profit association accredited by the Ministry of Interior, operating in Burundi with its headquarters currently located in Bujumbura. Its mission is to establish a framework for awareness and study in Burundi for the promotion of health by bringing together all medical students in Burundi's medical faculties around an ideal of good health, education, and medicine. ABEM aims to assist Burundian society and medical students in particular by- Promoting awareness among medical students regarding their role in health promotion- Creating a conducive environment for medical students to thrive professionally- Establishing partnerships with other medical student associations through the establishment of a forum for discussion and exchange of experiences in health matters- Serving as a focal point for prevention, awareness, and health promotion- Working in synergy with other associations operating in the medical and health sector. ABEM pursues its vision, objectives, and fulfills its mission without any form of political, religious, ethnic, sexual, or other discrimination. It emphasizes humanitarian ideals and aims to nurture a generation of responsible future physicians.
