The university started educational service with 5 faculties containing 9 departments on the first campus located on the 60 Meter Avenue. The faculties and the departments are as follows: Engineering Faculty (Computer Engineering and Civil Engineering), Dentistry Faculty (Dentistry Department), Administrative Sciences and Economics (Economy Department and Business and Management Department), Education Faculty (English Language Teaching Department, Mathematics Teaching Department and Computer Teaching), and Science Faculty (Information Technologies Department). The first Bachelor’s Program started with the 32 students the English Language Teaching Department of Education Faculty. 131 Prep students from the following 4 programs started studying English language: Computer Engineering, Dentistry Department, Business and Management Department, and Information Technologies Departments. The Continuing Education Center was established.

Al-Kitab University was established in the year 2012 as Al-Kitab University College according to the license of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, IRAQ, No. G H 1655 dated March 26th 2013, and Transformed by minister decision of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry-IRAQ No. T H A/ K 13978 in 29 Aug, 2018. Salahaddin University-Erbil
Founded in 1968, SUE is the oldest and largest public comprehensive university in Kurdistan region of Iraq. The University was transferred to the city of Erbil, locally known as Hawler, in 1981 after its establishment in the city of Sulaymania. Initially, the university included seven colleges: Science, Agriculture, Engineering, Administration, Arts, Education, and Medicine. In 1985, the college of Law and Politics was added. Several more were established in the following years so that by 2004, the university offered courses in 12 colleges.

American University Of Iraq - Baghdad

Koya University is located in the city of Koya (Koysinjaq), which is a 1.0 hr drive to the East of the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil (Arbil, Hewlér) in the Kurdistan Region of F.R. Iraq. It is on the foothills of a beautiful high mountain. Its campus has been carefully laid out to embrace the beautiful mountainous nature. The Koya University was established in 2003 and has developed noticeably. In 2010, Koya University was restructured from colleges to faculty systems to enhance the interactions between similar academic fields. Today the University has 4 faculties -Engineering, Sciences and Health, Humanities and Social Sciences, Education and a School of Medicine which consists of 25 departments in different fields, such as Petroleum Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Clinical Psychology, Social Science and Medical Microbiology as well as Sport Education. After the Kurdish uprising of 1991 and the liberation of large parts of Iraqi Kurdistan, the process of promoting education become the stream policy of Kurdish establishment. Kurdistan regional government (KRG) played a vital role in setting up academic institutions. In addition to developing Salahaddin University, the KRG reopened the Sulaimani University as well as establishing Duhok University. Continuing to promoting education as a milestone in nation building process the KRG opened both colleges of Education, Sharia and Law during academic year of in the city of Koya which were affiliated to Sulaimani University. Later, they became the foundation for Koya University. On the 11 October 2003 in the presence of the Prime Minister Dr Barham Salah, the Minister of Higher Education Ministry, students and teachers, the foundation of Koya University was laid by Mr Jalal Talabani. In accordance with the ministerial order issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Decree No.370/1/6 on 28//1/ 2004 and in compliance with article(1) of Council of Ministers, thPresidency
